I know that shields, back before the update, didn't add mitigation but 'block chance', thus avoidance. But now I wonder what is happening with shields, when I equip my shield (rather than going duel weild), my mitigation goes up. Huh? My shield is simply the tower shield you get from the gnome quest in Bonemire, legendary. There is no indictation that the shield give mitigation and I thought shields were for avoidance only, but when I equip it my mitigation goes up. So, is this new... a display bug? How shields are working now? Any info will be appreciated.

Message Edited by cr0wangel on 12-04-2006 02:09 PM

some shields have +slashing, crushing, piercing on them. that is added to mitigation. some armor pieces have this as well, in addition to mitigation numbers. dunno the specifics on the one you have

that would be because grizzfazzles shield specifically adds +'s vs c/s/p Most shields don't have that however and don't add mititgation.

As mentioned, the only shields that add mitigation are ones with +slashing, +piercing or +crushing.

Grizzlefazzle is one of my fav shields, its free and chunky!

Thank you for the answers, I was wondering if they made shields give mitigation again.
