Hi All,Some people have been curious as to what Gut Roar (Zerker AA Tree) actually does.Well i got it last night after pumping AA's into our class tree.Gut roar is cast on your target, it provies ONE "Counterattack" to the FIRST SPELL OR COMBAT ART used on the Zerker AND/OR his group. "Counterattack" DOES NOT strike back at the target, nor does it reflect the spell / ca. It COMPLETELY nulifies the hit.We tested this in a raid last night. I put Gut Roar on the mob and it COMPLETELY nulified the big AoE DoT on my group. I then tested this in the arena vs a Warlock who put Apocolypse on me, Gut Roar nulified the effect. So all in all, Gut Roar nulifies the first SPELL OR CA cast on your group.Amazing AA ability.

Nice, if not only everything was crap in the Debilitation line except Enhance Violent Pledge.

Nachricht bearbeitet von Bremer am 12-03-2006 07:30 PM

I got this ability today and used it in DT. I think it worked once the entire time I was in there. I used it one time on a gazer and less than half a second later I was hit with his AoE. The aa ability is either very broken or doesn't work on epics.

Hmmm it does sound interesting....

if you figure out the DoTs or AoEs of a mob you can pritty much time it to coincide with that. /wtb 50 aas to test it

The AA isnt broken, just exceptionally hard to use.Last night a pickup raid of us did "The Krathuk" in EF (watever its called). I started this fight by pulling with Gut Roar, then using taunts.Sometimes i countered the big hit, however most of the time i countered some tiny debuff. Remember that Gut Roar only works on 1 move. And timing Gut Roar to when the mob is going to use his big attack is [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] hard.Either way, it DOES work and its amazingly useful in PvP as players are a little more predictive in PvP.... "What Decapitate?" /whistles.

I know the OP put it in caps, but I just want to be clear...

This doesn't work on auto attack correct? If true, I think it would make it much more useful since the big attacks are always a spell or combat art...either big damage or big debuff - timed correctly to remove these and this is or best (or next to best) AA ever. The end of the agility line is similar, but that is only for us, where as gut roar is for the entire group! Also, with gut roar, we can continue taunting or anything else! I decided to pick up the 10% more resist on my taunts first, but now I really can't wait for 21 more points to get this.

Others are talking about how how debuffs (attached to damage) type attacks are worthless...I disagree. While it doesn't appear to add up to much (like when soloing), but when your group/raid get all these little things, it adds up to quite alot. If you can debuff 5% more than before, and 10 others can do the same, now the mob is 50% more debuffed than before (assuming they all stack). This is huge from a full group or raid perspective.

is the recast time really 1 minute?

I tested this ability out today. First I used it on myself. When the heroic enemy I was fighting used a combat art, it said they tried to hit me with Wild Swing but I Countered.

I then tested it using a pet I got from one of the new HQ. I let the pet take aggro on the heroic mob I was fighting, then used Gut Roar. It said Mob A tries to burn your pet with Wild Swing, but your pet Counters.

I tested the ability against heroic encounters with more than one enemy. Gut Roar will land on up to 8 mobs and will counter one combat art/spell from each of them.

I then tested this ability by solo fighting the x2 epic Broog the Banished. I used the ability several times but it never countered any of Broog's combat arts. Broog was casting his combat arts before Gut Roar expired, so that wasn't the issue.

So, I went into Living Tombs to test it. I decided to use it against the x2 epic, Yaith Shadowhowler. I fought him a few times and sometimes Gut Roar worked perfectly and stopped his spells, but other times I fought him, Gut Roar failed to counter. I cast it, and Yaith hit me with a magic damage attack that was not countered, then a few seconds later a poison damage attack was countered. I don't know why it would work on some hostile spells and not others since the description says it has a 100% chance to counter all spells.

It leads me to believe that the ability still has some bugs in it.

So seems the way this ability works is just like people on this thread have said. After you use it, it prevents the next combat art or spell used by the mob, even if the next one is aimed at someone else.

Message Edited by Shurinow on 12-05-2006 01:36 AM

I thought my OP was uber clear :p

It works on SPELLS AND COMBAT ARTS.

NOT auto attack. And if you read my examples, i explain the use of it vs Epic mobs

Its a great AA ability, and yes the recast is 1 minute.

Found out yesterday that Gut Roar can be resisted. I wasn't sure if it could be, but it definitely can. After it has been resisted the recast is 3 seconds instead of 1 minute.

Yea it can be resisted. Its an APP1 version, thus 3% easier to resist.

However, it rarely resists, and when it does it normally lands on the second attempt.

Good skill, i've used it on a few boss mobs inside instances, it's really helped decrease spike damage a lot!
