Hello me and my friend just recently rolled up on the pvp server and I'm currently playing a Fury. we're going to be duo alot in both pvp and pve. I want to be able to do well in pvp and also be able to take out heroic named mobs etc. The 2 tanks i was looking at was Bruiser/Berserker and I can't really decide. Based on what i was reading it seems like Bruisers took a pretty big nerf lately or am i confused? Any advice would be nice thank you =)

A bruiser is not going to be able to taunt either big encounter or multiple encounter fights. This causes the Fury to waste mana self-healing damage that the tank could more easily mitigate.

Really, there is no tank better than with a Fury than a Berserker. When the fight is under control enough the Fury should be throwing out AE rings and encounter-wide nukes. This is where the berserker shines with the ability dish out AE damage and taunts to keep the mobs' attention. And when the fight is NOT under control and the Fury has to go into fulltime heal mode, the Berserker can still do enough DPS that mobs are still dropping.

A well-managed and extremely well-geared Bruiser/Fury combo might be superior in killing named with the ability to get around more easily via feign and some nice single-target DPS and avoidance. But my experience with both combos has been when the fight goes to hell with the Bruiser you are usually hoping for a feign, spirit res, and reset. With the Zerker you are often both standing around a couple minutes later, out of breath, looking at all the corpses.

My GF and I play a Berserker/Fury Combo and it rocks. I can do damage and so can she, we both have badass ae damage, and zerkers are really good at keeping ae aggro so that helps. She is also the best healer I have seen, not sure if its a fury thing or shes just good, but the combo is awsome.

Depends on your playstyle.

I play a Fury and have duoed with both bezerker and bruiser.

If the play style you are looking for is:

Tank keeps all aggro, does some damage, requires less healing

Fury heals and does major damage

Then Bezerker is the way to go.

If you prefer to play:

Tank keeps some aggro, does more damage, needs a bit more healing

Fury heals and does some damage

Then you are better off with a Bruiser.

In general Bruisers will do more damage than a Beserker, but they will not hold aggro or take a hit as well.

both are very viable with a fury... bruiser bit better for single target, zerker better for multitarget...

if you going to do bruiser then you might aswell do Brigand. My Brig can tank better then any brawler/crusader and outlay way more dps/debuffs. you can also opt for an FD via the AA's but meh imo a good duo shouldnt get themselves into positions that will result in the death of one of em.. if your a 2-boxer fd would be handy but if your the husband/wife duo.. either take the str/wis line or sta/wis line.

without a doubt though zerker is best, for the job. but brig is way more fun and challenging. definitely quite a task doing a good tanking job with a brig.

My wife and I play Berserker/Fury Combo very successfully and are able to walk about places like SoS with little difficulty, I've watched a monk/fury, monk/warden combo and they can be successful because of large single target damage, but when the adds start showing up the monk doesn't have the means to keep the healer safe. I know brusiers make better tanks then monks, I just havn't seen a bruiser/healer combo walkin about yet. Berserker's can deal out nasty amounts of AE and encounter damage along with the fury's nukest. Because Berserkers gain hate from damage I don't even have to taunt to keep my wife safe, even with m2 starnova goin' off early in the fight. You may also want to throw a shadowknight into the mix of consideration as well. With their new aa lines they can gain more hate then pre-EoF, and their ability to DPS and Heal provides a lot of stability to the pair early on, where the berserker flounders with weak damage and limited AE capability.

I've duoed pretty extensively with a Fury in my career as an SK. I must say that Furries seem to be pretty capable going with any tank. I will say that as an SK, especially in the lower levels, the lifepats will help keep the Fury's mana pool from being exhausted so quickly. I've not played opposite a Fury with my Zerker very often, so I can't say if he works better then the SK or not. There are DPS considerations, perhaps.
