Just a couple of quick and simple quesitons about the Wis AA Stance Mastery. I understand what it does my main question is, does stance mastery also apply to the short term buffs zrkers cast, the ones that last for only 30 seconds, or does it only aplly to ones that specifically state "Stance" in their title. With that said if Stance Mastery does apply to the stances as well as the short term buffs, is it worth spending 8 points to remove the penelties associated with them? Thank you for any opinions and help offered with this

Stance mastery would only apply to the Offensive Stance and Defensive Stance (Courageous Will, and Unrestrained Fury). If it applied to all of the short term buffs it would be awesome, but probably over powered.

Yeah its just a Stance thing, i have it myself personally though. I absolutely love it, without it i miss alot of the time on raid mobs when i'm tanking and trying to melee.

Edit note: oh and I totally dig the loss of the defensive penalties when im DPSing on a raid, because if a mob turns it doesnt hurt nearly as bad. And before anyone says anything, yes i can switch to defensive fast, but if instead of needing to switch to no stance, then defensive stance i could use that time to pop a 30 sec defensive buff or two without already fighting like a [Removed for Content] with my mit/defense in offensive stance i can then keep myself alive long enough to get a heal or two and the Tank can reestablish agro. But most of the time if i'm Zerkin, i'm tanking.

Message Edited by kfizzle on 10-26-2006 06:17 AM

Dont use it for tanking! It may sound uber.... coz if u get rid of penalties on def stance u effectively 'gain' 17.3 slash/crush/pierce. Which may seem great against higher con mobs esp. 75.

----BUT----

Inorder to get enough AA points to put 8 in (+assuming ur Wis/Sta tank). You will have to do one/more of 4 (4th is ish) bad things:

1. Cut down AA in double attack

2. Cut down AA in Dps mod

3. Cut down AA miti

4. Cut down avoidance AoE (not super uber, but useful.)

- If you cut down ur Double attack + dps mod you WILL find it harder to keep agro! And as i say, u may be uber defensive but u agro hold will be looser = more unstable raid.

- If you cut ur miti... atm its overpowered (till eof) and yet still u will benefit more form having it higher imo... so you loose ur ability to negate damage

- and lastly the aoe avoidance is dam nice... but most of the hardest mobs... are only single enoucnter sooooooo......

/vlad advice

Vladnor The Berserk

70 Berserker

Unity

Splitpaw

Message Edited by Thor Of Halla on 10-26-2006 08:29 AM

Str 4 5 8 / Wis 4 4 8 8 8 here btw. I dont like Stamina, i refuse to use a buckler when tanking, and when DPSing i have that Vraskin Claw club (just so my choice and reasoning is more clear.) Personally i like a Two Hander when DPSing for the Open Wounds uberness, and theres a couple besides Vraskin i would still do the same setup for...but if i had a 1 hander with like a 84-90 DR, and not my Club, who knows i might have a different opinion.

i'm tanking dt/hos on with str/stai only need 1 enchanter to hold aggro, my raids go 15-20k w/ assassn xfer +enchanter i didn't even have to taunt, let alone cast, i just auto attacked raids still have 15-20kand i'm sure with str/wis you can hold aggro fine with assn+enchanter. personally i prefer str/sta as, i don't need to fight/find 2h's for offtank dps, and i'll just stick with a 1h for offtanking/mt. The lazy mans weapon choice, thats what i'm going for.how it pans out in eof, when avoid will be downgraded 5-10% and more mit might mean lots, and skills actually matter? we'll have to see, but for pre-eof either setup works fine.

Thank you all for all the info, sorry it took so long to reply but have been working alot lately. Mastery Stance does sound neat but with its limitation to only 2 of our abilities, i.e. the stances, and the mass amount of points needed to obtain it i don't think atm i will be going for it but maybe later if Eof changes things greatly.Right now i think i am going to try for a build of str 4-4-8, sta-4-4-8, wis-4-4-8, this would give me double attack, extra crits and extra mitI don't know if i will ever be seriously raiding, i never really got into it in eq1 and never really find myself in large or uber guilds. I actually spend most my time duoing with my wife, she is a defilier. what do you guys think of the str, sta, wis path i described, does it sound like a solid option. I'm not looking to be the end all zerker, just a nice solid build also i realize EoF is set to change everything around and thats cool, but untill then i got some aa points to spend hehe

Message Edited by delgoth on 10-28-2006 03:45 PM

You won't get any mit out of the wis line, because its the 4th ability not the third. So if you wanted to go down all 3 lines and still max out your mit and have decent dps your looking at 4/4/4 str, 4/4/8 sta, and 4/4/4/8 wis.

Aye i see my mistake i think i'm going to go sta 4-4-8, wis 4-4-4-8, and str 4-4-5, i didn't realize EoF was really so close to coming out so i'll pretty much just play around untill it goes live they'll probabally give out respects anyway and i still have a free one, once again thank you all for the advice
