Hey all berserkers,

I am thinking of making a berserker but i don't want to be the usual berserker. Will wearing chain really hurt my ability to tank and solo? I am not going to be raid tanking. I have alway wanted to do this but thought plate was seriously superior to chain in stats and mit. Thanks for the answers in advance.

Message Edited by Rasraaku on 10-16-2006 02:50 PM

Message Edited by Rasraaku on 10-16-2006 02:50 PM

Well, plate is superior in mitigation. The rest of the stats will really depend on the item. If you just want to be offensive, you just need to max your strength, which is pretty easy to do in whatever gear. But if you even plan on taking hits (tanking / soloing) then plate armor will make a big difference.

I think you will really feel the loss of mitigation from plate when soloing and when tanking for a group the healer will probably have to work a bit harder. You will also miss out on any class specific armor since it will be plate.

I doubt the extra avoidance gained by using chain would be make up for the extra mit. of plate.
