Hey all, I'm looking some advice from some seasoned vets. I'm a lvl 25 zerker and have always played healers and dps before. My questions is how do the likes of Stormhold compare in difficulty to tanking say a tier 7 zone. My biggest problem is in technique I think, I sometimes pull multiple groups and body pulling doesn't always work.Does it get easier or is the tanks life a hard one? ThanksGalenster.<div></div>

Pulling takes practice. Plus as a zerker you do not really start to shine until 40+. Just keep working on pulling one encounter at a time and you will be fine. Most importantly, be patient. A scout makes a mistake he dies, a caster makes a mistake he dies, a tank makes a mistake...the group dies.

<blockquote><hr>tvieson wrote:<div></div> a tank makes a mistake...the group dies.<hr></blockquote>Ain't that the truth... One other bit of advice : invest in anything that generates agro. So if you have a choise of getting an adept3 in your biggest attack or in shout and you're planning on grouping then go with shout. A number of zerkers can't hold hate with even just a fury blasting. I frequently tank for guild groups, and they include some tricked out twink scouts and casters. Anytime I slack off it goes badly. Not that I'm an ultimate authority... I only have a 55 zerker. <div></div>

in short... sometimes you need to body pull, somtimes you need to bow pull, sometimes you need to taunt pull. if you are 25, you have 45 levels to figure out which it should be and how to do it. GO!<div></div>

<DIV>For when level 70... the ultimate place (non raid) to learn where to pull properly is Nizaria, But equally, the other ppl in your group need to kno what they are doing.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Before that its HoF... which is gimpishly easy at 70 and since they nerfed it. But do it when ur a low t7 level and ull learn fast <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Vladnor The Berserk</DIV> <DIV>70 Berserker</DIV> <DIV>Unity</DIV> <DIV>Splitpaw</DIV>

actually, even at 70, if you do HoF with a pickup group and 1 healer, you better pull good or you wipe and wipe and wipe (personal experience)

<DIV>another way to generate hate prior to hitting lvl 40+ is to choose your gear carefully. at lower levels i said "screw stamina and everything else, its all about the strenth"...by going solely for strenth and DPS I have never had any problems holding aggro, and in groups have to hold back so I dont steal aggro from the MT when i am dpsing. you might not be able to take as many hits if you sacrifice agility and stamina to go with strenth, but you wont have aggro problems at least.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>like they said, practice makes perfect. by the time you hit 40 you will be king of the pulls...I have gotten to where I can pull just about anything from anywhere without getting adds, but i have been playing tanks in eq2 since the game came out....dont ask me to play a healer though,lol.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>just hang in there, and keep in mind that dungeons are the hardest to pull mobs in due to walls...once you get out of stormhold its on to ruins of varsoons....it doesnt end, so it will always be "hard", but with practice it gets easier.</DIV>

<P>Aye also, remeber Social Agro is the Tanks biggest nightmare since SoE made the mobs talk to each other more <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P> </P> <P>Remeber that if mobs are nearby eachother and you shoot an arrow or fire off a taunt at em they will most likely attract the nearby groups. So the next best thing is to body pull... Which may mean inching forward step by step till you get agro off the disired mob. Alternatively you could get one of your groupies (LOL - coz all other classes are our groupies <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) to send a pet in to pull the mob.</P> <P>Try practicing solo on mobs, use a body pull, and fire arrows in to see what happens, you will soon see why the social agro dynamic works. And once you have that nailed things should improve alot from their.</P> <P>Vladnor The Berserk</P> <P>70 Berserker</P> <P>Unity</P> <P>Splitpaw</P>
