I am a level 70 berserker. I have no particular attachment to my skills(they are all however adept 3) so I am thinking about betraying to Guardian to start raiding. Here is my current gear set up: Charm: 14 STA hex doll x2 Chest: Awakened Scalelord breastplate and Cuirass of Protection (Cuirass when tanking) Ears: Pristine Fashioned Acryllia Hoop Feet: Awakened Scalelord Sabatons Forarms: Awakened Scalelord Wristguards Hands: Awakened Scalelord Guantlets and Chitin Plated Guantlets (toss up usually wear scalelord) Head: Awakened Scalelord Helm and Mask of Irolesk Legs: Awakened Scalelord Legplates and Pristine Imbued Xegonite Vanguard Greaves ( usually wear Scalelord when tanking) Neck: Pristine fashioned Acryllia torque Main Hand: Brakzar's Cleaver Shield: Kite Shield of the Seeing Ranged Weapon: Bow of Firvanious Fury Ring: Light Chitin Ring X2 and Dark Chiting Rinx X2 ( light when tanking dark when soloing) Shoulders: Awakened Scalelord Pauldrons Waist: Pristine Fashioned Acryllia Girdle Wrist: Pristine Fashioned Acryllia Bangle Ok , I have spent endless hours collecting my gear without raiding. I have always considered myself to be a casual player and thus tried to stay away from raiding. However, I have recently decided that I want to be a tank. I dont have to be the best tank , but I want to ( Im sure some of you know what im saying). However I dont want to [Removed for Content] myself for soloing and farming as I do. As a zerker I like to farm poets pallace solo , Can guardians do that? I know that as a zerker I can tank POA , Hall of Fate , AoA X2 , and Nizzara - I know as a guardian my tanking ability can only get better. So my question is , Would you recomend betraying to tank raids or will my ability to tank x4 mobs be relativly close as a guardian and a zerker? ( Note , I will buy my CAs and such adept 3 if I betray) This is posted in both guard and zerk forums.

IMO, you don't need to betray. A zerker can tank anything a guard can, including chel'drak. I personally wouldn't be able to give up my dps for such a small increase in survivability. As for gear, your gonna be hurting for a bit. You really really need to get cracking on the claymore line, and get at LEAST done through palace. You will get an earing, bracer, belt, and shoulders that are worlds better than what your currently using. Once you start raiding hopefully you will then be able to get your Mark for a necklace, and try to talk them into doing ascent x2 for your claymore quest once you get to that point. The first quest you do on claymore after ascent will get you a really nice pair of greaves that are almost as good as Doomrage. I would also try and get Grizzfazzles shield too since you don't seem to be using the STA line of AA.All of that stuff is doable with one grp for the most part, just time consuming. Get all that and you can tank anything in labs, most of hos and lyceum as well. Some of the named will beat you like a red headed step child a bit, but it can be done, cause thats what I was wearing when I first did it hehe.

You'd end up wasting your time betraying, hoping that it'd give you a big edge in raid tanking, it won't.Can you tank in that gear? depends on your guild, do you have one? if so what are they hitting. Need more infoAre you the only guild tank/ best equipped?if so then you'll just be hitting labs, and labs trash, at most doing 3named for a bit till you+guild get some relic/ doomrage. How can you improve yourself? group setup for 1try to havecleric/shaman/druidcoercer or dirgecrusader or conjurorafter that, improve on your aa's get 50 if you don't have em, if your starting out to tank, choose either str/sta and wis line. Get that mit, you can use the aa mit line as a crutch until you get better armor. And like others said, work on claymore up to aoa x2you probably won't find easier to get mit,earing/belt/shoulders/legswith that much mit in a long time.again you need to provide more info.

Just keep in mind if you go guardian you end up with app 1 CA's. Make sure you have coin or the loams to get a full set of ad3's made before you raid. Gear looks like about what I started with, and the Claymore rewards that I still use to this day....well the belt at least. Guardian / Zerker they both tank fine, just different styles.

thats a very tough question...depending on how good you and your guildies are, how good all the equipment is, how good your raid leader(s) is, etc

generally speaking, I'd say if, once raid buffed, you have 6000+ mit and 10,000+ hp, you should be able to do quite alot. Assuming you have adept3's and masters too of course...To do the higher end stuff like the last few names in Deathtoll or a couple contested mobs, would require a little more - but maybe not depending on things I listed above...
