I don't know what happened so ill just start my thread again=p

I prefer the dps role of a zerk since im on a pvp server and im up to lvl 55 now. I can do amazing dmg with my 2hander and an adept3 bloodlust buff which my wife uses on me. My question is, would i get more dps out of dual wielding than i would from a 2hander? I know there is some mitigation formula involved with the two different weapons but i haven't been able to turn up anything but heresay and myth. I am also aware that the DW weapons have a higher dmg rating by about 20 or so i believe? Also would i get riposted more if i was DWing since i would be swinging more often or is it a fixed value?

Please don't tell me to go stamina/buckler, i've done that and i don't prefer it. Thanks for your input! =)

Well you'd be attacking more frequently so you would be getting riposted more, but the actual chance of being riposted doesnt go up. In order to prevent that max out your offense stance and stack +weapon skill in all slots possible.

As far as group/raid dps duel wield is usually higher especially when both weapons have procs, although open wounds is more effective with a 2h IMO. Now PvP is a different story, since we zerkers don't really have snares or in combat movement buffs we have to maximize our burst damage since we won't constantly be on our target so the times we do hit we need them to count. I've found that a good solid 2h with a high damage range tends to give the best results in pvp. Speed of weapon isnt usually an issue because of our zerk buffs plus once you hit 60 you can pick up the 20% haste belt if you have the faction and status for it. Granted thats all just my personal experience, not sure if its the most effective but its what worked for me

Its called the Belt of Seven Winds, its a level 60 fabeled waist slot item with 20% haste on equip from the pvp faction reward vendor. Its sold by the fighter supply sargent, I beleave the requirements are 350k+ status, level 60 and about 41,500 faction with lucanic knights to purchase it. Also theres a level 45 fabeled earing with 20% haste from the pvp vendor although i didn't even bother with that one.

Message Edited by MajiinX on 09-28-2006 03:34 PM

At one point I'd gotten my haste up high and was using dual wields and getting riposted more often... enough to really notice. It hurts when you are in offensive stance, and it makes you think twice about using something like juggernaut too.

Now, I'm more invested in having my DPS mod higher, without the haste increase. I don't get riposted as often, and my overall DPS is about the same. I also can use juggernaut without holding my breath.

I'm just saying, I'd chose to increase my DPS mod over my haste mod any day... you do more damage per attack rather than more attacks per second... which should net out to the same offensive result point for point with fewer ripostes. Well, at least that's the way it looks to me. Perhaps someone has parsed out both options and has found something different, but I've been happy.

EDIT: In response to what was said above... I don't think that two procing weapons help you under the new mechanics. My understanding is that now only the weapon equipped in your primary hand will proc. So, choose carefully which weapon you equip in your primary slot.

Message Edited by Robbpilot on 09-29-2006 11:28 AM

Message Edited by Robbpilot on 09-29-2006 11:28 AM

From the sounds of it he's a Freep. The Qeynos Belt equivalent is the Blademaster's Sash, gives 20 STR 20 AGI 15 STA 15 WIS, 50pp, 55hp, +378vs heat and cold, +5 slashing and 20% haste. They take a lot of faction to access (We're talking like 1500 pvp kills) but are in many ways comparable to some of the highest end raid loot out there. The Qeynos side 1h sword Dazzling Blade is only surpassed by the Planar Axe imho. If you're curious about it and have access to the features on eq2players you can look me up (Kemt on Venekor) and see a few of them, my belt, sword and one of my wrists is PVP reward, we PVP players also have more tabs on eq2players for PVP tracking as well. If you're really curious about all of the items available you can always roll up a level 1 and take a look at the merchants. Qeynos ones in QH, and FP ones in NFP.

As for the OP, you will likely risk more ripostes using DW. It isn't enough to be crippling, in fact you'd probably not even readily notice it. The real difference in damage between 2h and DW weapons are when you look at the "lost hits" scenario. For example using our 2s AOE attack you might lose 2-6 attacks from your DW weapons while you're "casting" your AOE. But if you're using a 2h you might lose 1, and if it is really slow, probably 0.

DI's been together for coming close to a decade now. Some continued playing, but more have come to play EQ2 with us over time. Now there's only 2 or 3 people left. When the guild was disbanded on AD (Argent Dawn in WoW for people who have idea what's going on,) it was due to a number of us quitting WoW. We tried EQ2 out a month or two later.
