How do you max aggro gain on raids using CA (i.e. not the group buffs from Coercer/dirge).What I would like to know is which CA combinations you use initially and which CA's you cycle during fight.Info greatly appreciated.

There are 4 main taunts that I use at 52. The direct taunt, the group taunt, the reactive taunt, and the taunt plus damage. I always have the reactive taunt on (taunt that automatically increases hate when you take a hit). In most situations I start with the direct taunt (if a group mob, then the group direct taunt) and then alternate throughout the conflict between single target direct taunt and taunt plus damage. If I need the extra agro I use both the group taunt and single target taunt, even if there is only one target. Don't forget that DPS plays a major role in the berserker's agro so try to do as much damage with your other CAs as possible. We also get Insolent Gibe which is a group taunt that also has a reactive group taunt. So you can group taunt, then when they hit, you automatically taunt the entire group again (pretty awesome in raids with multiple group encounters).

There are also some tricks that might help peel agro in emergencies. First is rampage (destruction @ 70), this can increase DPS dramatically making you a bigger target. In most cases this is used to pull agro off another tank. Then there is Rescue which can also be handy when the situation gets out of control, but only use in an emergency. The recast is 10 minutes or something crazy.

Most important in a RAID situation is knowing who you group with and making sure they know how a run a raid. Sometimes it does not matter how much you taunt, you will still loose agro. In those cases your DPS hounds will have to wait and let the important people (tanks and healers) get set. Once agro is set and healers are comfortable that they can keep you healed for the entire battle then the DPS can begin.

Message Edited by tvieson on 09-25-2006 09:24 AM
