View Full Version : MT questions with buckler line.
<DIV>Hello all. Just curious about a few things mabye some of you Fellow zerkers could help me with.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was wondering How effective Zerkers are as Raid tanks using the Buckler line that being Str and Sta line. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I personally Raid Tank Agi 4 4 5 8 8 Wis 4 4 5 8 Ungrouped mit with Gear is 5400 7300HP max defense.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have heard that Buckler line is good but How does it go with Raid tanking like DT, HoS, Lycium. Wont the loss of Avoidance make it harder to Stay up or is there a way to counter that. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>Wait? are you talking going both STR and STA?</P> <P>I've gone STA and WIS and found it to work best. Avoidence loss isnt to much and hell avoidence doesnt matter all to much on raid mobs.</P>

<P>ya, surprised as a MT you didn't go wisdom line for the mitigation. Going to a buckler, you lose about 4% avoidance, but once raid buffed, you can make it up. And as previous poster pointed out, when fighting higher level, and epic mobs, they have many attacks that are simply unavoidable, and since they are higher level, your avoidance is scaled down on the avoidable attacks any way. If you get as much mitigation as possible, and grouped with the right classes you're gtg. Last week through deathtoll and halls of seeing, I had 65% avoidance with buckler, plus a paladin putting their spell on me for a chance to use their avoidance, plus a templar (I think) who has an AA ability that also grants me a chance to avoid a hit using their avoidance. Add up all these chances to avoid a hit, and it calculated out to be exactly 100% avoidance. But I only avoided 50%.</P> <P> </P> <P>But personally, I don't think there are any "must haves" with the AA's. I like my set up the best, but that's not saying it's the best for everyone. The AA's are supposed to be about having choices, and I'm gonna hate it when every single warrior out there has the exact same build. I know I could switch to anything, and get the job done the same with very little, if at all, difference. Yea, having 50 points spent will make a diference from having none, but switching around the 50 to different places is minor.</P>

<P>Stamina line helps tanks hold single target aggro a lot. I've noticed a big difference. As a side note I know of a zerk who switched to stam/agi and didn't notice it was harder to tank anything. If you're at 5400 mitigation self buffed you could lose the ~300 mitigation from wis line and still be OK. </P> <P>Double attacking in AoE is pretty cool. You'll be an aggro magnet that way and hold hate like a mofo.</P>
