he sounds like he wants a monk/bruiser.kinda not another zerker, at least with a brawler type you can stack buffs.

Your 3rd might also want to look at a Rogue classes, Swashbuckler or Brigand in addition to the Monk or Bruiser.Rogues have some heavy DPS and also have a great deal of utility and can tank if geared properly since they have a good single target taunt and can gain a very nice taunt from their Stamina AA line.

I'd think that a Zerker, Fury and Brig would all complement each other pretty well.

Coercer hands down. Might be a tad slower (if no good pets around), but if he knows what hes doing theres pretty much no content that can stop you.

I would want a Coercer with me hands down. I duelbox a Fury and a Zerker allthe time, and the power regen u get from the coercer is second to non...They can do some damage, can mezz, can give u extra hate to keep all the mobs off the fury, and with a fury and Zerker u will have tons of dps. Oh and fight grps of mobs....=0) Oh baby. With that said if ur friend is hell bent on playing a melle type id say have him play a Bruiser....Cant beat a Bruiser lol.

well for group safety Monk is a good idea as they get a group FD and can save tha party from time to time. Scouts have evac and can do this as well, but a monk can also fill in on tanking if need be. Also monks get a heal spell thats not bad in an emergency.

Thanks... I'm his friend. I went with a Monk. First time playing EQ2 - hope it was a good decision... but most likely will end up making other characters and testing them.

Best trio I can ever remember being in was Berserker, Fury, and Dirge. So much fun. The berserker was sitting at 100% dps + haste a good portion of the time. Cacophony of Blades + Open Wounds = Scary. There is just alot of synergy with that trio. With bers/fury you really can pick just about anything for the third and not suck. I see you went with monk and that's cool. I just wanted to toss this out there for anyone else in a similar situation.

Thought i would chime in on this. I have a dirge as well, but wouldn't choose it as a 3rd in a group. For a fullgroup, most assuredly, but for a trio, nope. I'm sure the group does fine, but if you're just trying to mow through things i think you'd be much better off with a dps class in the slot, like a brigand, necro, or assassin. Being the fury in the duo and having played the dirge in a much similar setup as well as a bruiser i would rank things like this: #1 a top tier dps class, #2 bruiser, #3 dirge/coercer, and lastly another healer or tank. Using a tank or healer as dps is just not real efficient. Using a coercer can be efficient with master pets and using the coercer in a dps role rather than amping the zerk up with dps.hate gain etc. Dirge, well the dirges buffs(at least prior to 52) don't add up to his lack of dps in comparison to a tier 1 dps'er in his slot. A dirge becomes more useful as more people come into the group that can utilize his buffs, but in small groups don't bother.

-Onikio, 54 fury, Nagafen

My pick would be Berzerker, Fury, Assassin.

The Assassin can channel some agro directly to the zerker to help with agro. However the surveillance pull ability of the Assassin (and Ranger) is invaluable in this day and age of close social agro from mobs. Assassins can pluck a named from a big bunch of surrounding mobs.

Best duo by the way is Monk/Bruiser, Assassin.
