<DIV>A little background first. I'm a lvl 70 Berserker and I felt up till tonight that I represented the class well I wasn't super geared out like say Khalad is but I felt I represented the Berserk er class well. I"m the MT for our guild and have no problem being the MT but tonight we were off doing some relic trash runs with 2 groups and I wasn't tanking and realzied that the paladin in our group that isn our guild who has only 1 fabled item and mostly crud gear had 900 more HP than I and we disbanded and looked at some stuff and he had almost 750 more HP than me. I always new Guardians had the most HP but here I am getting seriously beat down by a Paldin so I am asking for some help and advice on how to raise my MAX HP by like 500 or so. Here is a list of my stats and equipment. Here is alink to my wq2 profile too</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><A href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=111003105" target=_blank>http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=111003105</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Current Stats Self Buffed NO Guardend Vehemence WITH food Bosprite's Wine & Screewoggin's Surprise</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>7880 HP</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3933 Power</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Attack 1257</DIV> <DIV>Mitigation 4968 (over 5k with a light chitin ring but since this deals with HP and I don't always use the light chitin were going with this number)</DIV> <DIV>Avoidance 58.6%</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Defense 423</DIV> <DIV>Parry 379</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>STR 530 </DIV> <DIV>AGI 283</DIV> <DIV>STA 520</DIV> <DIV>INT 53</DIV> <DIV>WIS 166</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Cold 6685</DIV> <DIV>Disease 3237</DIV> <DIV>Divine 2492</DIV> <DIV>Heat 7623</DIV> <DIV>Magic 3739</DIV> <DIV>Mental 2932</DIV> <DIV>Poison 3447</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My 50 AA points are like this AGI 4/4/4/8 Sta 8/0/0/0/0 Wis 4/4/5/8</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My Gear</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Helmet- Barbute of Annihilation Necklace - Mark of Awakened Instinct</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Chest - Chestplate of Fiery Might ** Earring - Dragonscale Earring</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Shoulders - Dragonscale Pauldrons ** Ring - Wurmscale Band</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Forearms - Doomrage Vambraces Ring - Dark Chitin RIng **</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gloves - Doomrage Gauntlets Wrist - Silver Bracelet of Rage</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Belt - Dragonscale Sash Wrist - Dragonscale Bracelet</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Pants - Doomrage Greaves Pristine Ruined Imbued Dragon's Breath hex Doll (+14 sta) </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Boots - Sabatons of Annihilation Broken Idol of Zan Fi (+15 sta)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Weapon - Drakeborn Bludgeoner **</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Shield - Draconic Deflector</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Range- Razorwing Bandolier</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This is my gear as you can see it is all Fabled or Legendary. the ** next to items are ones that I know I need to replace for sure. Pallies do self buff HP a considerable amount, so that's part of it. My <a href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=367876205" target=_blank>zerker </a>is about in the same position as you, he has low HP compared to some other tanks (even though he raid buffs out at around 6k mit and 10.5k hp), so I'm really curious to see what the other more knowledgeable zerks here have to say.<div></div>

I think this is a bit of a nitpicking issue. Your hitpoints are fine. The only thing I can see is that your resist cover a wide range. But as long as you can swap in a few pieces for each appropriate battle, you should be fine. If you want to go for 8000+ hitpoints, by all means do so, but honestly, you don't need them and will very likely hurt yourself in another area unless you happen to find items that are full improvements to an existing piece. Where are you likely to find those kind of pieces? On raids.By the way you phrased this single difference, "<i>...but here I am getting seriously beat down by a Paldin...</i>" it sounds like you are seriously freaking out about this. You said he had crud gear for the most part so I'm taking a guess here...You had better mitigation, better avoidance, better stats, better power, better skill boosts, better aggro generation and better damage output. He had better hitpoints.Aside from a break or two from the game, I'd like to suggest a piece of advice:If it ain't broke, don't fix it.<div></div>

<DIV>Paladins have a self hp buff and in general Crusaders an AA-Path to increase their HP by a % number.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Without sta at cap I have 7,7k hp solo, I doubt that much more than 8k is possible for a zerker. Cap sta and get fabled with +125 hp for every slot, that's all you can do (altough sta is often wasted when you are in a group with a Inqui or Mystic, so try to get the fabled).</DIV>

<DIV><FONT color=#00cc99>Possible causes for the HP disparity:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#00cc99>- Paladins get a few hundred extra HP through a self-buff.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#00cc99>- The Paladin's race may be one of the few that offers a HP% modifier, Dwarf, Halfling or Ogre I believe are the races.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#00cc99>- The Paladin is likely specced in the +HP% achievement.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#00cc99>- The Paladin probably chose +HP% traits.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#00cc99></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT color=#00cc99>Pretty straightforward truth is that you're not going to be able to catch or beat that Paladin in HP. However that Paladin isn't ever going to catch or beat you in mitigation and for the most part avoidance either, due to parry. Don't worry too much about it. Your HP pool is smaller but your effective HP pool is probably similar or larger.</FONT></DIV>

<P>YEahI'm a Barbarian and the pally was a dwarf. Thanks of r the advice.</P> <P> </P> <P>And to answer the personw ho said I sounded like I was freaking out I was. I mean I knew pally's had a HP buff, didn't know they had an AA line that increased their HP, and I didn't nkow dwarves got a large HP % modifier. So I was looking at htis guy in his bad gear havin g way more HP, we did a comparison and he had pretty much the same as our other MT a Barbarian Guardian who has similar gear to me and I was like [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] I think something is wrong.</P> <P>Good to know it isn't. ANd yeah I switch out gear that I need for when we do other fights or I just pull in a warden in the group and get my resis buffed way up.</P>

Blessing of the Reverant Master 1 gives 367hp to the Paladin AA Stamina path offers an increase of max hp up to 4% Several races, if not all, have two choices to raise their max hp percentage, for up to a maximum of 5% Any HP buffs on the Paladin (including his own) would then be increased by 9% (I've buffed tanks specc'd like this with Holy Redoubt M1 on my Templar, which gives 964hp to the target and they end up recieving more like 1050hp if not more) My 70 Wood Elf Paladin alt has all of the above skills, normally sits around 7,600hp with only Relic Guantlets, T7 Legenday drops and T6 Fabled gear. <div></div>
<div></div><div></div>First off your equip looks solid but you should 100% be using a CoP even though it looks like crapI concur 100% with dimglowhp max matters very little in high end raid tanking - with multiple healers healing you mitigation is absolutely everything until cap - and then questionableagainst a 74 - 75 mobs you need close to 7k raidbuffed mitigation or more and similar resists - I find myself sacrificing alot of hp and other stats to get as close to this as possible (and resists) - you should probably be wearing 2x light chitin - they are about the biggest bang for buck tank gear item you can getalso berserkers usually have near or cap regen which makes up for max hp to a degreemitigation then avoidance (which you should be getting the paladin to put his avoidance on you or another tank in the MT group anyway) > everythingwith bolster you should be sitting close to or over to 13k hp on a pull and intermitently through a fight, anywhere from 500 - 1k isn't going to make much a difference when the mob is hitting for 3 - 6k a pop - however the mitigation will matter over timea MT is a battle of attrition and dps vs. heals - your cap matters little - once the initial spurt it's all about how much damage you take over timeimo anyway - also slap in mobs that debuff mit and you are in a whole nother world, even add more mit to your equation------looking at your gear, I'd swap in more mit/resists, don't worry about the hphave a pally in MT group and get his avoidance buff on you because it's better than you casting yours on someone else - even though you won't see the numbers on inspect it works - monk avoidance (yinyang) is better which you should have on you instead of someone else 24/7 in any group you have a monk in group (mostly instances) but in raids pally's have more utility in raid group(we are on a pvp server so we only have qeynos classes so keep this in mind)but our ideal group that side is....Tank (gaurd or zerk)Mystic (bolster ftw)TemplarFury or Warden (maybe a hair towards warden, but agitate on MT might be helpful also)Paladin (serious utility class due to mit buff, and avoidance on you + LoH in MT group) or Conj (mit buff + resists)Dirge (think this is a no brainer)<div></div><p><span class="time_text"></span></p><p>Message Edited by Zervun on <span class=date_text>09-04-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:34 PM</span>

Yes they can grant you extra mitigation, but at the cost of their own (which is more than what they give, making them easier to be killed as well). Avoidance is helpful, but Crusaders in general have the absolute lowest avoidance of all the tanks (due to not having Parry on their defensive stances or any AGI / Parry / DEF buffs) is just something to keep in mind. Beyond a 8% divine damage group proc (double vs undead) and about 50 Wisdom & Strength, the Paladin doesn't offer much in the way of tank buffing utility.</font> <font color="#ffff00"> </font><font color="#ffff00">LoH is a raidwide ability, as are their single target heals and wards. </font><div></div><p>Message Edited by Taschen77 on <span class=date_text>09-05-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:01 PM</span>
pally in mt group to pledge mt is great utility for guilds starting to raid in t7, if thier mt is short on mit and needs it.If you have a warrior spec out wis for 314mit and have a pally pledge on em they're pretty much gtg tanking anything in labs. Once your mt is fairly outfitted you can get rid of the pledging and go and have 2 hate buffers (dirge/corercer/[expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]/swash) in the mt group to make up for the increased dps due to raiding and everyone getting better equip/spells.anyway 2 mts' 1human zerker, 1human pally.pally is beating me by 1k, and we're pretty much in the same gear.<div></div>
