Armor/weapon options as a lowbie?

Hi there, I have a Barb. Zerker on Nagafen server. I'm still a noob at this game but am learning the ropes. So far loving it <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> My question is this; at lower levels (currently 13) should I be very worried about spending some coin on better armor/weapons around my level or should I stick to the level 1(ish) stuff I crafted? I picked up a level 10 one handed axe and a shield, seems to have helped a bit all around. I tend to hold my own in same level 1 on 1 pvp and pve, toss in a few higher level Q's and I tend to get my [Removed for Content] handed to me. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  I read around 20 theres a quest to do to get some better armor, is that worth the wait? Thanks.On a side note; I wish I would have picked up EQ2 instead of Wow back when Wow came out... Leveling happens so fast before level 20 that spending large amounts of cash on your toon would be a waste.   If you have money to spend get your combat arts and skills to apprentice IV by buying your runes from the broker.  Used dropped armor and weapons.  Go to http://eq2.ogaming.com/ and look up all the lowbie quests that give gear as a reward.  The gear is good enough and the experience you earn by completing the quests will help you level faster.<div></div>

<DIV>I have my 14 zerker in a full suit of blackened iron I mined on my main when I got really bored, since my main is also an armorer it only cost me a few silver for fuel. But since this is your first toon, i'd suggest you save your cash and not worry about gear until at least 25 or so, at that point is when you start to group more than solo for the best xp and in groups is where the gear really matters. For picking items, Mitigation is the best for a tank. STA and STR are also good but not as important as most preists buff hp enough in a group as it is, AGI is also ok for a little extra avoidance.</DIV>

<P>You will get to 20 in no time. At that point I would recommend the AQ armour. Ok....it's pink.... but it is pretty good. At 30 I swapped it for a set of prisitine imbued feyiron vanguard and actually felt a hit in performance even though the MIT was way better. Energy managment in the AQ armour seemed to allow me to chain pull for ever.
