<DIV>Hello there Berserkers. I have a question for those of you with the Dragoon's Reflexes AGI line end (ultimate) 8 point skill.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>During the 12 second recovery period, are you able to auto-attack? IE: If you cancel the ability (the recovery timer will still be going), does your weapon swing?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't mean the ripostes/parries, etc. Just you auto-attack swinging.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This has a big impact on CA spamming, since if it is possible to auto-attack during the recovery timer, then weapon delay fitting to CA cast times + recovery timers no longer matters as much.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I would really appreciate it if someone can actually test this in the game to verify this.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thank you</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

nop i dont think you can do anything while the recovery of the dragon reflex is on <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

<DIV>I really would love someone to actually test this. Some people say you can, others say you can't, and my own recovery timer tests ended up inconclusive.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Rokjin on <span class=date_text>08-26-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:55 AM</span>

<P>For this particular ability, it probably doesn't let you do anything during the recovery in an attempt to balance it. My brother plays a zerker but he's never tried this end ability (although he's glanced at it more than once for it's "oh crap" usefulness).</P> <P>However, for regular recovery time (the 0.5s between normal CAs), you definately can autoattack. Otherwise you'd never get any autoattack in when chaining CAs together.</P> <P> </P> <P>In fact, you could immediately tell the difference back when they screwed things up so that autoattack didn't go off during the recovery timers. People lost a good portion of their autoattack whenever they spammed their CAs. Scouts lost a third of their DPS and tanks were having a harder time holding aggro.</P> <P>Looking for the update that mentions it all I can find is back on June 20th:</P> <P><STRONG><FONT color=#ffcc00>*** Combat ***<BR><BR></FONT></STRONG>- Auto-attack is back to normal.<BR></P> <P>However, <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=combat&message.id=107086" target=_blank>here's the thread</A> that popped up because of the accidental nerf, and the dev response to it. Complete with a screenshot of "what happens if you can't autoattack during recovery timers" just a couple posts in. Moorguard's response is on page 3.</P>

<P>It could be also that queing CAs 'checked' for an auto-attack waiting inbetween CAs, and that is what was screwed up during that time. When I tried parsing it to see if you can auto-attack during recovery time I got really weird results. ie: Both a 2.0 and 1.2 delay weapon would swing after the first CA but before the second, after the second and before the third, after the third but before the fourth, then AFTER the fifth with no auto-attack inbetween the 4th and 5th. I couldn't get the pattern to repeat, but I only had 8 CAs that I could string together on a test mob without pause.</P> <P>However it did seem it took a good 1.5 seconds or so if not more to get off a CA, atleast according to the timers in the logs.</P> <P>If any one has this ability, please attempt a test with it. That will settle the matter completely.</P>

<P>Wish they;d make Dragoons Reflexes a Riposte instead of Parry.</P> <P>Then we'd be able to generate some agro while not being able to taunt and use combat arts <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

<P>no you can't autoattack, even if you stop the buff there will be no auto-attack untill the 12 sec timer is up...  there are other classes that can lower it sone, but its essentally a stun where you can move...</P> <P>on the other side the coldforged BP or monk tsunami you can attack threw...</P>

Wabit, just to confirm, you have tested this personally? I don't mean to question your opinion, but I just want to get a first hand opinion from testing, as second hand reports have varied quite a bit on this.<p>Message Edited by Rokjin on <span class=date_text>08-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>05:48 PM</span>

<P>No, I believe you. Just wanted to get a first hand account that recovery timer prevents auto-attack.</P> <P>Thank you very much.</P>

I had this ability before I respecced to sta line (never looked back).I can confirm as well it stuns you during the duration. No CA, no auto-attack.Which is opposite to the description, which states you cant use any combat arts but doesnt say you cant attack anymore.Either needs to be fixed.... the skill or the description <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>
