So I have heard about the Berik, Sword of Thunder that comes out of SH. I have also heard that it is needed for the EBBC quest later on.Now, the question is... is it worth spending the time to see if I can get it to drop in SH? (Any predictions on average time this may take?)The one handed Berik, Sword of Thunder would be very nice at my level (I'm currently level 25) but I don't know if the EBBC would be the best thing to use later on as I am planning on using my AA points for the Stamina line. Thanks in advance. :smileywink:

The difference between the BBC and the EBBC are a few minor stat differences and that the EBBC has a 10% chance to proc a hit of 83-102 in magic damage. The links below will show you both of them.

http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/items/BoneBladedClaymore.php

http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/items/ElectrifiedBoneBladedClaymore.php

If you plan on going with the Stamina line then the EBBC probably will make a very good wall decoration. It's a 2 handed weapon so you won't be able to use it.

A few reaons not to.

There are many 2h'ers that are better once you get over level 50.

Doesn't work with Stamina AA line.

Finding sword of thunder can be very hard.

BBC and EBBC are great weapons. More importantly they are also great quests, along with the Sword of Thunder. Basing the quests you do on AA plans that matter very little in the future of your character is like washing your feet with shampoo because you want to get an A on your term paper. People change AA all the time. I started in the stamina tree but then I got the BBC/EBBC. At level 46ish where I am at I don't really see any comparable weapons and the sword doesn't leave my hand. Will that change? Of course. But don't try to use some end-game AA strategy to dictate the way you level. I have had KoS since level 20, when you can start to accumulate AA points. I think I have 7 points or about that. So not like you are going to maxed out on AA when you reach this level.Do the quests and get the swords. If you can't get the sword of thunder to drop you can always pick it up on the broker. BBC is probably the easiest heritage quest I have done and that gets you status points for you and your guild. Don't pass that up. I do heritage quests that I can't even use just to help other guildies do theirs and build my status. If you have the right information it's really a no-brainer. The people that tell you to skip these quests are plain wrong. On a better note the stats linked for EBBC above is wrong. +15 str +10 agi +15 sta +5 int+80 health +70 power
Message Edited by Kindagger on 07-19-2006 05:20 PM

Oh, I wasn't saying don't do the quest. All the heritage quests were fun, and worth doing. By the time I got this one done though, everything in stormhold was grey and mentoring down to kill thousands of trash, trying to find the sword of thunder really sucked, and never did end up finding it. And wasn't about to spend over a plat (which was alot of money back then) to buy it. Not to mention there were lots of better 2h'ers out there by the time I got it. If you can get the quest done at an early level, then it's definetly a kick as sword.

Any how, didn't they change it?, so that you no longer need the sword of thunder to get it electrified? Cause I can now buy the electrified one from shady swashbuckler on nek docks, but I never did get sword of thunder.

The Sword of Thunder is not (no longer?) consumed when examined to start the quest for Berik. So you can buy it from broker, start the quest, and sell it again.

This has caused prices for Sword of Thunder to drop drastically -- at least on my server you can get it for a couple of gold now -- you don't need to grind for it in Stormhold. :smileyhappy:

Getting the SoW when I did the quest well over a year ago was so hard (pre mentor), people created new alts to go farm SH for it. As luck would have it, I was in that zone with some guildies on a fun night and got it on 2 consecutive kills. I happened to win the roll on both of them as well lol.
