<DIV>Hey all,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Quick and dirty the title says it all, any of you zerkres out there that have also played a pally at one point which did you like better (although the answer in this forum will be obvious <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) and why?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Long story short I am a mid 40's pally and love her to death, while killing some time working some vitality back up I rolled a zerker (can you tell i like tanks <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ) My intention was just to futs around abit but I have to admit I am pretty damed impressed with her so far. She is only 14 but already I can see that your dps makes a pally look like they just came from a retirement home. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm actually contemplating making her full time for awhile my biggest concern is survivablity compared to a pally. Sure I can kill 10x faster than my pally but sgould i be expecting to be making 10x as many corpse runs in exchange? Is that the trade off?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Mainly I solo a lot due to a pretty whacky play schedule due to rl commitments and I love the soloability of the pally, will the zerker be a good fit also?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Eventually I would like to be a raid tank if i can ever manage to get more play time just for a little more info.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Would love to hear from all you zerkers out there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks in advance <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

Thats a pickle, barring, player experience, guild preferance and all that jazz...pally will be the best for casual solo'rit would be very, near difficult to have a crusader raid tank, yes i have seen it done, But 90% of the time if there's a well geared guard/zerker, they will most likely be your Raid tank. You can have countless arguements to the contrary but i'm pretty sure a guild as a whole, if they had to choose between a pally mt and a zerker mt both in full relic, they'd pick the zerker mt and have the pally MA and mit /ward buff the MT. It's just about using what you have. <div></div>

<P>It comes down to what most issues do, skill. A good player with the right gear will make an excellent Paladin. We have a paladin in our guild that can and does tank every mob in the game if need be. I think the first time we dropped Tarinex he was one of the tanks. He's a skilled player and if you run seperate heal/dps parses on the raid like we do, it's almost to the point where Paladin's are overpowered :smileysurprised: *calm down I said almost*</P> <P>Generally speaking most folks are going to look at the Berserker first in terms of tanking, but Paladin's can definitely get the job done if the right person is at the wheel.</P>

If you like a solo stay a Pally.  A zerker may have bette dps, but we also have less "s" soloing because we can't heal ourselves.  You have to have pretty good gear to solo as a zerker if you want to take even level ups.  <div></div>

<DIV>I solo a lot on my zerker. Kinda have to, I quest. :smileytongue:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ain't ever really found health to be a major issue. Decent armour with a breastplate heal proc, decent food, and our couple of health regen' abilities on has kept me alive. Tis even less a problem now with the first AA ability being Bind Wound. End of a fight I'll pop the manastone then bind wound and I'm ready to let the bodies hit the floor. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Only took a Paladin up to the mid teens. Can't say as it's grabbed my attention. Tis odd getting used to which abilities aren't combat arts and which are actually spells I can't use while moving. I miss the AE's an awful lot too. Of my alts, the monk is my second favourite. Hehe, reckon I prefer my zerkers horse to my Paladin.  </DIV>

I've recently rolled a paladin to try out. Although he can solo very well with heal and ward. But it generally takes longer than my berserker to kill anything. When it comes to group mobs, just no comparison. Going up against a group of healer mobs are just torture. Pretty much have to wait for mobs to use up their power. Paladin soloing tactics is pretty much outlasting the mobs through heal/ward while slowly chipping the mobs hp away. For berserker, it is much simple. Pure brute force. Unleash the damage until either mobs dead or you hit the dirt. The berserker has in-combat hp regen which if you take the master 2 option can help a lot when soloing.  Paladin can solo better but I'd rather solo with a berserker any day.  My berserker can solo 1 levels higher single arrows ghoul in SS with just treasured gear, cheap legendary weapon and shield. Only takes 30sec-1min. Pretty good for a tank...<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>
