Berserker as a tank

Is berserker really a good tank? I am playing a Fury and have now come into the lvl 40+ range, and the last two times I had a berserker as MT were really tough. Do ^^^ mobs start getting really mean after lvl 40 - till now it was possible to tank ^^^ that were higher lvl than MT without and high risk of dying. Or does good gear become more essential the higer you rise (both had some armour parts 1 or 2 tiers lower)? Or do berserkers simply have quite low life compared to other tanks? Maybe they should concentrate on Stamina instead of Strength as a bonus on gear? Grateful for any hints as my good friend is a Berserker and we have till now been successfully mastering heroic encounters, wanna continue the good teamwork!

Need a bit more information. My wife, a Fury, and myself went from 1-70 and had no problems at all. <DIV>Berserkers are outstanding tanks and shouldnt even need a shield and defensive stance for heroic encounters, many of us tank raid trash with a 2 hander and offensive stance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gear is huge.  Mitigation over all.  Period.  Get legendary or fabled armor.  Take mitigation over stats for any item. </DIV>

Not to sound harsh at all but this question has been asked nearly a 100 times and nearly a couple of dozen posts.  I'll answer it yet again.  Zerkers can tank just as good as Guardians can.  We wear the same armor have nearly the same mitigation.  We get a couple of less defensive ablities but our offensive capabilities outweigh that and keep us balanced.  Like Khalad said Mitigation is king.  Never settle for less than legendary.  And in all honesty i can solo a Named blue ^^^.  So he sould have no problem staying alive in a group with a healer. <div></div>

Surprisingly we didnt do to well as an xp group.</P> <P>Berks are imo the besk tank's in general because we are useful in so many situation. Our dps is way beyond guards and pallys. Our avoidance is far beyond the sk and pally. we tank just fine unless you are like me and you have 150 stamina and 324 strength un grouped, then you are better as a back up tank, i duo with my wife so she main tanks and i throw in some of the DPS, and even then, with gear and traits and AA geared to strenth and DPS, if i switch stances and throw in a shield i can tank just as good as the rest of them!
