<div></div>I'm new to the game and I'm looking for some opinions.  I'm a veteran MMO player so I don't have any preferance as to which type of class I play, since I've played them all.  I'm kinda looking for the vibe of the game.  Which classes are gimped/over powered.  Which ones are more popular than the others.  I started off with a level 8 Fury, and started looking at other classes just to make sure before I put time into him that I got the feeling for the class. And then Berzerker caught my eye.  What roll does a berzerker play in the mid/end game?  I see posts that puts him as a tank and some as a good DPSer (AOE melee?).  Do zerkers get good invites for groups, or is it tough?  Do they play twitchy where you are costantly spamming button.   Which fighter class is the best tank and which one is the best melee and where does zerker fit in?Just trying to get the flavor of all the classes and how they mix with everyone.  Your input will be valued.  Thanks in advance.

<div>Hello, Well my input may be a little off, nbecause I took a substanital break from EQ2 and just recently came back.</div><div> </div><div>But from what I remember and what I am seeing right now this is my input.</div><div> </div><div>The 2 main tanks are going to be a guardian and/or zerker.</div><div> </div><div>Guardian-  Has more hit points and can take more damage, but does alot less DPS.  Also has 1 more taunt then a zerker I believe.</div><div> </div><div>Zerker-  Does alot more DPS then a guardian, has better AOE Aggro then a guardian, and fantastic group buffs.</div><div> </div><div>They both wear the same armor.</div><div> </div><div>Monks are based on there ability to not get hit and do very good dps, as do bruisers.</div><div> </div><div>I had a lvl 37 zerker when I left before, I rerolled on a diff server and am back up to 31 now.</div><div> </div><div>I can't speak for end game yet, but finding a group is pretty simple, I dup with my brother who is an assassin and am able to hold aggro on his high dps abilities.</div><div> </div><div>Now, I don't know how accurate my input is, like I said been a whle, but it should not be to far off.</div><div> </div><div>Enjoy the zerker <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div> </div>

<div></div><p>Guardians are slightly better tanks for raids, but I'd say Zerkers can tank just as well as Guardians. Then Pallys, then SKs. I haven't been on much raids that a monk/bruiser tanks. They can work on even con or lower raids but it's no fun with yellows and more difficult stuff.</p><p>One thing to notice is that each tank has a self buff ressist specialty. Guardians buff fire, Zerkers buff cold. Pallys buff divine and magic. SKs buff dissease, bruisers buff poison and monks buff mental.</p><p>I think guardian is the most boring of all and the worst at soloing while zerker is much better for that along with all the other tanks. So for me, hands down zerker is the way to go.</p>

<div></div><div>If your intent is to raid tank, be a Guardian.</div><p>If your intent is to have the most fun tanking, be a zerker or brawler.</p><p>If you will be soloing more often than not, be a Pally or SK.</p><p>Under no circumstances should anyone ever pick a guardian in *MY OPINION* unless their sole intent is to tank for groups ALWAYS. The reason being what I am told by several guardian friends about the length of fights and the 'boring' nature of them. Again thats MY OPINION, by no means a knock on any guardian, they are better suited to take damage and absorb it.</p><p>In my experiance, I would say Zerkers probably the most well rounded Tank, however the Brawlers (Monk/Bruiser) are better suited to soloing with their heals and FD and other useful tools than us. The Crusaders also have alot of utility with their heals and life tap, rezz or evac etc etc.</p><div></div>

<div></div><p>Kinda like Kfizzle was saying, Berserkers are probably the most well rounded tank of all. We get high AoE melee DPS, we can group tank very easily and are one of the best at keeping aggro, and we get self regen buffs as well as self strength buffs (increases power pool and attack damage).</p><p>If you want to group tank, you shouldn't have any problem getting groups. If you like to solo, not a problem either, just get some good food/drink for regening after fights. If you want to play your class for DPS, it is possible, and we are pretty good at it honestly with grouped mobs, but you have to deal with people that assume you can only tank. (I've gotten many replies of "Sorry we already have a tank" when I have asked to fill in a DPS spot). IF you really want to be a high end raid tank, it can be done, (I was tanking one of the highest end dungons 2 nights ago with little trouble) but it is probably a bit harder than if I were a guardian.</p><p>Basicly, if you want to be able to do a little of everything with some ease, go Berserker. We can do a large amount of DPS, and can tank with little problem in most situations, you just have to learn to play the class well and there is little if anything you can't manage to do.</p><p>I will say though, if you want to be the best solo tank, go Monk/Bruiser, they're a lot better than we are at that. Berserker is just really well rounded in all areas.</p>
