<div>Which would you choose if you were duoing?</div><div> </div><div>Hubby is leaning toward berserker for their tanking ability and their better DPS compared to the other plate tanks but hasn't cancelled out the bruiser totally. He played a berserker as his main in EQ 1 and though they are now two totally different animals, the allure of the berserker is appealing to him. We want to be able to duo effectively and be able to level together and do quests while just enjoying the game together. In a duo situation, which fighter would you choose to tag along with a defiler?</div><div> </div><div>Hoping to get some good feedback for my hubby from fellow berserkers.</div><div> </div><div>Thanks for taking the time to reply. :smileyhappy:</div>
<div></div>brawlers tend to work better with shamans vs berserkers. still no disadvantages or anything tho in the end prolly doesn't matter.

<div></div><p>Many of the class-defining aspects of berserker center around the fact then when they take damage they get mad (really mad) and do more damage themselves in return. So, when they get wounded they go berserk and dish out additional damage.</p><p>When a berserker gets a ward placed upon them, it prevents them from taking damage. Unfortunately, this also prevents them from getting set off into smack-down mode so their DPS is sort of muted.</p><p>Reactive heals or regens let the berserker take damage and proc his offensive buffs while still healing the damage.</p><p>So, when a healer's class-defining heal limits a fighter's class-defining offensive buffs it is an unfortunate situation. It will still work out well, but it won't be optimal.</p><p>Wards work well for brawlers because they don't take damage every hit, and wards accentuate that effect of not taking damage for extended periods of time. In addition, the ward does a direct heal when it expires for the leftover points. Reactive heals just go away - often with a lot of wasted points on a brawler, but they are perfect for mitigation tanks because they get hit more often but take less damage per hit.</p>

<div></div>Really, you can't go 'wrong' with any fighter/healer combo. They all are capable of getting the job done if played well. One of the guys above me made a good point about about wards interferring with a berserker going berserk, but the ability also procs offensively too. So it's not like your husband's dps will suck if you play a defiler. Bottom line is the most important thing is you both play classes that you'll enjoy, not what others tell you is the best min/max option.

<div></div><p>Me and my bro are defiler/zerker, and it has been alot of fun. </p><p>I know I go berserk all the time, wards or not, so that is not a problem. You proc berserk when you do damage as well, not when you just get hit. I don't know much about the fury thing, they tend to make me nervous, waiting a little to use the big heals. And the debuffs are priceless. </p><p>We are both almost lvl 70 now, and he really doesnt ward me unless I get low on hps, my avoidance, mitigation, and hp regen are so high. </p><p>Also, with the new Defile spell, omg, when fighting multiple mobs...well, once I pulled about 12 green mobs, just ran around and picked them up by proximity, hit all may aoe's, he popped defile, and the fight was over, pretty nice combo.</p><p>But I am sure any combination has its advantages, but Berzerkers are made for aoe encounters, where bruisers are better suited for the one on one thing.</p>

<div></div>Eithr combo will work very well...I love mberserker and my favorite healer class to group with is a defiler but Ithink allthe previous psoters hae pointed out the different aspects you will get more dps out of your bruiser but when the bruiser gets hit it will hurt a lot more don' think you can go wrogn either way but if it was me I'd go berserker/defiler but I'm a bit bias hehe

Zerker/Defiler is fine Zerker/Fury is best imo. Brusier/Defiler has got to be the best duo'ing combo i've seen. <div></div>
