Which do you guys use when in your DPS role?Currently I use 2 cobalt crescent axes...and was planning on using axes for my DPS role cause i was going with the str AA line (i have a hammer for my 1 handed and am going wis line first).  So was thinking maybe 2 handed would be better....since i cant seem to find any good dw axes.  And been seeing a lot of good 2 handers...So guess my question is 2 fold.... do you use DW or 2HAnd what AA lines are you all thinking?  For me I like Wis, Int and Str....Wis is definite...its just one of the others...<div></div>

<div></div>I use a 2 hander, but both are viable options.  Use what you like, or what you can get your hands on thats the best quality.  I usually use 2 hander and leave the DW for the scouts.

<div></div><p><font size="4" face="Comic Sans MS">I have found thru experimentation (spelling?) that your attack value is slightly higher with a two hander vrs equal dual weapons of same tier. I am going Wis line first and use a cobalt war hammer. Two cobalt dual weps would be about the same attack just slightly less I believe (about one or two points). For this reason I go Two hander for DPS and Morningstar and sheild for MTing. I cant wait to get to the end of the Wis line and have no penalty for our stances! I would go Defensive and have no DPS penalty or OFfesnsive and have no avoidance penalty. Its good either way! Hope this helps.</font></p><p><font size="4" face="Comic Sans MS"></font> </p><p><font size="4" face="Comic Sans MS">Cacophonix</font></p>

Both are viable options. When combined with Dragoon Cyclone, and Open wounds though, your better off using a 1h or 2h weapon. Since the AE proc is only based off the primary hand.I personally am a fan of the 2h weapons.  Auto-attacking for over 1k damage is just fun <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Highest hit so far was 1711 with an Ancient Draconic Warpike.  Not a crit.  Highest crit was 1650.<div></div>

In all reality, DW would be beter because your contantly dishing out damage, plus you get the stats form not one, but two weapons, i've been testing this out and what i've found is that DW and 2H are almost the same DPS, just one has a slower attack rate. Now, if you take all this into consideration, a 2H can deal more damage if they have the right proc, theres the new pvp merchants, they give out a sword called 'the twisted blade' it has a proc that gives it +20% attack haste, plus(on the sscout merchant) you can buy a +15% hatse wrist item, then you have your berserk and last but not least, you have the intelegence AA skill line, this sucker gives you a skill that lets you increase your attack speed by 22-(i think)30% or somthing more, and you can keep this sucker up forever, and evn after that you jhave the automatic haste, I have my auto haste at 2 so I get about 2.5 or somthnig haste with swords always! I'll push roughly 60-90% attack speed with a sword at level 44.<div></div>

<div>2 hander all the way...heck when I was grinding from 60-70 I even tanked probably 80% of the time with my Cpt's Ever-SHifting Vogue, but that's a differnet story... and KOS has plenty of solid 2 handers that one can get in the group instances that are very nice if you don't raid.</div>

<div></div><div>Dull but true answer is that it really depends on the weapons you have access to. Although I personally think DW looks way better <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div>

<div></div><p>Yeah- my zerker is still only in his 20's - and as far as [Removed for Content] mode is concerned, DW just looks cool.</p><p>But from the sounds of it - looks like I need to start looking for a nice 2H.</p>

<div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div>I used to think that 2H's were always the better choice for Zerker DPS and perhaps they were at some point but in T6 I noticed that I had a higher attack rating and better stats with 2 crafted DW cobalt crescent axes than I did with a same quality 2H cobalt executioner's axe.  And I like the look and the animations of the DW's better too.  In T7 however I am using 2H's exclusively for DPS but that's only because I haven't found any good DW's that I really like in comparison to the 2h's I currently have.  The Blade of Desolation is the best one I have found so far and is a no-trade drop that can come from the named at the end of a relatively easy ring event in SoS (the one in the ritual room).  And it looks really cool too.<div></div><p>Message Edited by infernus006 on <span class="date_text">03-20-2006</span><span class="time_text">05:27 PM</span></p>

<div></div><div>Slow 2 hand weapons have had there proc ratios delayed as from LU20, so 2 hand in DPS mode isnt probally as good as it used to be. Also, note that almost every 2 hand weapon i have seen in Tier 6 and 7 have a 5% chance to proc its inherent proc? Some have a 7% chance, but still, nothing to brag about.</div><div> </div><div>I tend to go dual weild leafblades, you get a nice delay timer to maximize proc potential from other proc buffs, plus your weilding two weapons with a inherent proc on them of around 300 - 400 direct damage each hand just from the proc.</div><div> </div><div>The good thing about Dual Weild is, if you have maxed out your crit chance in your STR line, then you will crit a hell of alot more then you will with a 2 hand weapon thats for sure, and because the odds are more then likely against you to roll up numbers on the short end of the stick with your 2 hander because of SoE's RNG, then Dual Weild is the better option for DPS mode, in my eyes anyways.</div><div> </div><div>Two 5% chances to proc is better then one 5% chance, thats enough to tell me that Dual Weild is better in DPS mode, not to mention, that leafblades have the same delay as most 2 handers, so realistically seeing as proc buffs only proc from primary now, you arent losing any chance to proc off your primary. All your doing is gaining more DPS from your secondary.</div><div> </div><div>EDIT - Also let me add really quick that if your fighting groups of mobs, that a 2 hander plus Open Wounds is better then using dual weild weps with open wounds, but if your fighting single target encounters, then dual weild would be the better option.</div><p>Message Edited by -Aonein- on <span class="date_text">03-21-2006</span><span class="time_text">09:05 AM</span></p>

Going to add an answer and a question to this post.First.  For those on the pvp servers I'd say go with a big 2 hander.  In a pk fight there's lots of running around so the big hits when you can get someone in range are better damage and dps than a few little tinks with a dual wield set before they can get out of range again. And:How exactly do you tell if a 2H weap is better than two dual wield weapons of the same level?  ATM on my little 27 zerker I have two dual weapons that are 14.6 rating and a 2H that is 21.7(6 maybe).   For straight pve damage do you add the two dual ratings together?  Some other formula?  Thanks.<div></div>
