So I understand why you would prefer to have a higher lvl tank generally. Simply because this higher lvl person would either a better chance to mitigate, avoid, parry ete. I'm just curious if anyone has actual numbers on this. How much harder to i get hit by a yellow con vs. a white con, or a lvl 60 vs. a lvl 61 mob. This has bothered me from day one.I'm not sure if my wording makes this question make sense. Perhaps that's because it's confusing to me as well. All input is greatly appreciated

I can't give you exact mathematical formula's on how it is done, but I also had the same concerns as you starting from when they changed the con on the third priestess a couple weeks after DoF came out. We had tried to kill the priestess with just 4 of us and almost pulled it off. She was a yellow con at the time. We came back the next day with a full gorup and she folded me into a little ball and threw me back to the zone in, she was an orange con suddenly. After that I started monitoring named mobs as their con color changed on me.

I wouldn't say my information is definitive or wholly conclusive but I found, on a rough average, that a mobs dps on me was cut by almost 60% when it dropped a con color. For example, the Devourer in the Den of the devourer was smacking me for low 2000's at lvl 64 as an orange con. At lvl 65, as a yellow con, that amount dropped to around 800-1200, which is roughly about a 60% decrease in dps.

Not authorative, just based on practical experience.

I remeber we got all the way upto the Devourer with me tanking at 64 also Buuncha, and she did the same to me, smacked me around like a little pinata, went back next day at 65 and we took her down not a problem at all.

Same thing with Chamberlain, tanked all way upto him at 61, he wasted us no fear, but that was before they nerfed his crazy AoE, went back at 64 and didnt pose a single problem, but his AoE did used to hurt, havent really noticed it doing much dmg if any anymore.

One thing i will say, is in Halls of Fate, con dont mean jack wether there blue, white or yellow, they still pack a punch in there.

The con system in the game is very out of whack and you basically need to learn the con system for the acual zone you are in, because they all seem to be different, can usally get a feel for it after the first few mobs you take out though no worries.

Message Edited by -Aonein- on 03-11-200601:51 AM

If you open up your Personae window and mouse over your mitigation it will give you a % of what you can absorbe

say your lvl 63 and you have 4000 mitigation, when you mouse over it will say you can absorbe 40% of damage from a lvl 63 mob. ( those are not exact numbers) but that will give you a better idea on what you can handle with your mitigation, Avoidance works the same way when you mouse over that. as well as haste/dps and those only work on auto attack not your CA's

Not sure exactly how true this is but I have been told that orange con mobs will generally ignore your mitigation altogether.

The Flying Guiliotines in the palace of awakened seem to ignore avoidance and mitigation, not sure if you guys have experienced this but i get hit about the same as our monk does which makes no sense what so ever.

^ Do they still con orange to you? If so try again when they are yellow and you should see a huge difference.

Just so you know I was trioing those things with a 63 Warden and a 70 Wizard the other night and I'm only 67 with mostly T6 armor still. Didn't have that much problem with them except when there were more than 3 adds. The mobs in HoF are insane though with that 4k mit debuff
