Hail,Sorry if it seems to be a dumb question, but i asked a lvl 41 paladin of my guild yesterday about shields. The guy did'nt even know he could tell his block rate by putting his mouse over his avoidance value... and told me "parry skill increase block rate"... so i tough i'd be better asking someone else ^^.Since i came back on EQ2 recently and play a zerker and loving it, i'm questionning about AAs and wanted to see how much wearing a buckler would hinder my tanking viability. So I tried to figure how shield really works in EQ2, since i've been tanking in many MMOs for the last 6 years and shield mechanics varies a LOT.As far as i could try (lvl 18 and not that much cash) i would dare say that : kite shields have better block rate than round shields ? and that the lvl of your shield as an impact on its block rate ? (made a few tests to come up to that). Now, i search on these boards and on google for 2 hours and didn't come up with a CLEAR review of shield mechanics.could be down to a few answers to questions though :- Do shield have different block rates ?- How does the armor factor on shields works ? (my AC didn't change when i equipped a shield on my chacter profile)- How great is the different block rates with different types of shields ?- A blocked attack is fully negated, right ?- Do shield works the same for every class ? (a guildy told me AC varies on shield due to wielder's class oO)- Any important (even basic, you'll never know...) thing i should know about shields ?Thanks a lot for reading my rather boring post... i think a clear answer might be good for all the berserkers (and even other tankers) to have for future reference.(Sorry for the many mistakes, i'm French.Yes, i would love to see a dual shield wielding class one day in a MMO :p)

Kept searching some more about it... and still haven't found any answer. I know some of you are great berserker class veterans, and i always read in you post "you won't catch me with a buckler on" so... really wondering why exactly ? how much better is a tower shield compared to a buckler ?
