<div>First off let me say that I am a new player and made a melee class that was 'good' in PvP and in PvE. I made the berserker thinking he could kill, or least have a decent chance to win, against other players a few levels, give-or-take, of himself. But so far my pvp experiance has been VERY disappointing.</div><div> </div><div>Sure, players say that characters should not solo on the pvp servers but many times that seems to be the only option. Most my deaths occured while soloing and against stealthed characters around my level.</div><div> </div><div>What type of weapon should I be using, considering all enemy,...2 handed or 1handed with a shield?</div><div> </div><div>What tactics are best for the berserker, on a pvp server, and when to apply?</div><div> </div><div>I had been using a 2handed(5-15 damage) sword and was able to apply heroic attacks on the enemy but still get owned.</div><div> </div><div>My total kill-death ratio is 2:19 :smileysad: Only 16th level and a little disappointed!</div><div> </div><div>How are the rest of you berserkers doing?</div><div> </div><div>THX</div><div> </div><div> </div>

I have been doing well, given that I haven't gone out of my way to farm the young Queens etc. Lately at lvl 17-18 I have run into a brave foe waltzing into the Commonlands to backstab me. Since I haven't farmed I am at about 14w 20l from either gank attempts or face-offs when I am lucky to get them.I use whirl (I know it's weird since it's an aoe), I taunt and move around alot to screw up their targetting and pretty much spam every damage attack I have. Aside from keeping my buffs on, that's my only advice right now. When opponents run I resort to the chase and arrow tactic but without a stun of any kind (I dual weild, not going to use shield) this becomes redundant. Who knows what new toys will come with my later levels, but right now thats how I've been Zerking and have had a ball with it.Hope this helps a bit.

Im quite new to eq2 and havent tried PvP yet but I dont think that your shield blocks magic so while fighting casters bring out the big guns and hammer them away. But offcause use a shield when fighting scouts.<div></div>

<div>I disagree. That shield is a MUST against casters or you lose a stun/interupt. I used nothing but 1h/shield on the PvE servers and same goes for the PvP server. </div>

<div></div>Unless you have a really good 2 hander, you should stick with the shield....also get yourself a few stacks of Butterfly potions (see stealth) to take care of those scouts.

<div></div>I'm lvl 19 now. I went to a tower shield(awhile back) for the additional mitigation and an axe. A good bow is a must and good arrows. Grouping is the way to go. Get in those wiggle fingers faces, stun with shield, taunt, knee break, whirl, etc. Then the group DPS tear them up. Spam your taunts when grouped.

<div></div><p>As any player it is important to upgrade your combat arts and armor/weapons.</p><p>This is especially true and applicable for fighter classes than any other class.</p><p>Upgrading your armor should be given number 1 priority since that is how you are going to survive from PvP attacks.</p><p>For Tier-2 players, the best way to upgrade your armor is from epic (group) loot drops from monsters or receive them as rewards from good quests. T2 Crafted armor is secondary to epic drops or quest rewards for this Tier. However, In later tiers crafted armor is better than quest rewards or epic drops.</p><p>You should upgrade all your armor pieces and jewelry. There are some nice rings you can get from collection quests.</p><p>For your breast plate (body armor) and leggings you should use imbued crafted armor because these are better than epic drops or quest rewards because these gives you a proc and a very good one at that.</p><p>You should get an imbued one handed weapon, an imbued shield and an imbued bow (long or short your choice, any throwing weapon type is fine since all of them do equal damage)</p><p>Imbued one handed weapon and imbued shield gives you two procs. So, it is better than a single two handed weapon just for that additional proc you get.</p><p>Do not forget to buy two hex dolls. They are a must because they gives you a nice stat boost.</p><p>If you have a bit of money you can go for Legendary crafted items for all of the above mentioned. Specially shields and bows are very affordable (less than a gold each), but rare crafted dolls, armor and weapons can be expensive.</p><p>Then, upgrade all your T1 combat arts to Adept III versions. You can do this by yourself because you can craft them easily, or buy from a crafter for couple of silver each. T1 rare loam is going for few coppers on broker last time I checked. I spent only few silvers to upgrade all my T1 spells to Adept III.</p><p>Then, upgrade all your T2 spells to Adept I. Adept I books goes for 5s to 20s each. Not that expensive.</p><p>Finally, make sure to buy the best food and drinks from the broker for your tier. These will help you to quickly regain your hp and mp after a fight.</p><p>Hope these helps.</p><p> </p>

I think melee tank types will be the worst at PVPing for about 65 levels. I mean, you are basically in the game to be meatshields so DPS aint gonna happen (maybe SKs would be better simpl because of their dots and HT)But just like WOW, the tanks will shine once they get the uber gear. Once you get one of those crazy KOS weapons you, as a Bezerker, will just pwn anyone in AE range...of course, its gonna be a long grind to get to that point and you are basically a pvp harvest node for the majority of your levels.

I guess you are comming from WoW. In EQ2, you can get uber gear at any Tier. There are Legendary or Fabled items available at any Tier. Just that you have to spend a bit of time or money to get them.

<div>I read this whole thread and laughed. Ive got a level 22 zerker on venekor and I just plain DESTROY people in pvp. Ive taken down level 25 and under solo without any problems whatsoever. Im already a hunter and i only ever use dual weild weapons.</div><div> </div><div>The trick to pvp as a zerker without resorting to a sword and board is just to spam your attacks, move around the enemy so they have a hard time keeping an eye on you, and upgrade your gear as much as possible. Ive got three armor quests down already and am working on the fourth, it makes a HUGE difference.</div><div> </div><div>We are demons in pvp if you know how to work it, I havent met a class that I couldnt beat if they are my level or less... so my advice is to learn your class better.</div>

I've got all my armor quests done, and I use the Shiney Brass Halberd, and I slaughter people. Just as Nuthilyan said, keep moving, spam your attacks, and keep your gear upgraded. I have been having no problems in PvP with my Zerker.I've used sword and board for the interupts, but just switched to dual wield to test that out. Can't wait to go zerk with two axes on some poor caster!I can take on any class within a couple levels of my own (23 at the mo.) and generally I will make a right mess of them. Thanks to my 1.3k health and good combat health regen I can stay standing for quite a while unless rooted and nuked - Then Carbonite arrows tend to suprise rooting mages <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />It's also fun to know you are hitting everyone that hits you with your offensive procs. The only time I genrally lose is against groups of people more than 2 levels higher than me but I guess that's par for the course. And even then I'm not going down without a fight <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Just have fun, remember you are a Zerker so go running in and just hit anything and everything that is stupid enough to get near you!AE attacks are great for this.If you die laugh, res and go back at them screaming a battle cry all the way.Often being a Barbarian beserker I have found people 2 levels higher than me running away as soon as I run at them <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<div></div><p>I am 206w 77l and I have this advice for you.</p><p>At lower levels, you will get owned, by just about everyone. Casters root nuke you and scout classes will out DPS you. Don't fret grasshppper. As you level up, your CA upgrades will help a lot. You MUST get your resists up there. If you don't you are toast against casters.</p><p>I would suggest that you get into a group and head for CL to PK. We shine in groups. Get in the healers face and interrupt him, taunt the other players off of your healer and if you use a shield, and your resists are petty good, you can now outlast casters.</p><p>Berserkers are harder to play in PvP early on, but they start to shine as they level. I am almost 30 and am happy about how life has become for me.</p><p> </p><p>One thing though, most everyone will run and they will get away for the most part, unless they wait too long to run. We are pretty slow and most people can escape if you are solo.</p>
