<div>Hi all I just created a new beserker.</div><div> </div><div>I use to play one back in beta but created a paladin when game went live because back then it was not clear that beserkers were going to get to wear vangaurd.</div><div> </div><div>Well here it is much later and afte the new skills and newbie island I thought I try it all out with a Zerker.</div><div> </div><div>I ended up having a lot of trouble and died a lot solo.  I am completely untwinked as I am just using what I can get by earning myself and I had a bad time especailly trying to do some of the quests in the Ruins.</div><div> </div><div><div>As a paladin I was basically always defensive stance, even solo, unless I was not the main tank is it the same for a zerker? </div></div><div> </div><div>So any tips for a newbie zerker but not newbie tank?  Does it get easier or do I just stink?   Any must have training options in the early levels?</div><div> </div><div>Thanks</div><div> </div>

<div></div><p>Oh like to add I also started a new SK to give it a try and had a much easier time starting out and not sure if it because SK plays very similiar to a Paladin or if it takes a while for zerkers to come into their own.</p><p> </p><p>Any way appreciate any tips you all have.</p>

<div></div>I am fairly new to the game and have at least one type of every class (scout, mage, healer).  I made my first tank a berzerker and must say that I solo'd the whole isle (character made after LU19)  and basically did all the quests.  I even solo'd the cave without dying (this isn't to say that I didn't die at all, but not much).  I'm not sure if your having problems because you are use to other tanks or what.  I will say that I used my heroic opportunity at every chance.  I cannot comment on future playing as I'm only level 12 atm.  Good luck to you!

Once you start getting towards your late teens and into your twentieth levels you are going to notice a big difference. I have a level 41 Zerker as my main and I have more fun with him than any other character...good group dps and tankage...good soloing ability...especially on multiple mobs. And I have read on these forums that once you hit 50 it gets better yet. So...just be patient and keep working at it. And it is so much fun to be a berserker and swing a big double headed axe...LOL

The Ruins are also not the best place to judge anything. They are horrible for aggro and the orcs are pretty powerful for their con. I found that mine started to be a load of fun when I started to do city tasks near the hidden griff station.<div></div>

At early level, berserker lacks any mean to self heal like crusaders. Furthermore, at those level the dps are about the same too. So naturally you'll find berserker solo worst than crusaders. The most important thing I noticed at that level is getting the proper tier gear. Once you hit 10, you have to upgrade all the armour, weapon and shield to T2. If you are still using T1 armour, you'll get hit for a lot of damage by level 10++ mobs.<div></div>
