Hey all. I'm wondering what gathering skills to raise for my fighter/berserker. I dont really enjoy crafting, but wanted to be able to harvest the rares for my skills to save some cash. Is mining the only one I need to find rares for my skills? <div></div>

imo raise them all......you never know what sony is gonna put in the game next so dont wanna have your pants down in the future hehe also having them all will give you the option of harvesting during your down time........alot of time you can get rares form other things and trade up for somthing you need or make som egood cash<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />)) <div></div>

<DIV>Mining gets you metals for weapons/armor and also metals/gems for combat arts and jewelry. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Foresting gets you wood for shields, staffs, cudgels and pikes.  You can get clubs, quarter staffs from rare wood for quite a bit cheaper than the metal versions (maces and such) also there are some 2handed piercers made from wood (e.g. ironwood pike) again much cheaper than metal version (greatspear).  Required for various quests. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Gathering is roots, bushes, mushrooms - you could get rare roots for making cloth armor and hex dolls.  Bushes and mushrooms don't have anything rare except glowing/glimmering etc for imbuing.  But there are lots of quests through all the levels that will need herbs and such collected so this one is a must. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Fishing  won't get you rares aside from the imbueing stuff.  It doesn't seem to be required for any quests. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Trapping can get you rare pelts - for leather armor and quivers and such.  I only recall one quest that needed trapping and it was pretty low. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So if you like to do quests, and some access quests require these too - mining, gathering, foresting - all pretty much required.  You can skip fishing and trapping - unless you are a cook.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Metals and gem rares are the most expensive - so mining is the best for making money or for saving money when you get armor/weapons/spells/jewelry made.  Cloth next followed by wood and leather - at least on my server.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Alchemist harvests seem almost worthless - the potion/poison market stinks and the rare stuff is a byproduct of metal/gems when rare ink for spells is made.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For general cash - i.e. not rare harvests - the groceries market can be the best.  You won't sell common metals, gems, pelts, roots, etc for more than a few silver, but some of the stuff used by cooks can fetch 10 silver or more.  Fruit and spices especially. </DIV>
