<DIV>well, here it is, its been posted billions of times i am sure, but currently, whats available for zerkers at 50+?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i am training up both, i use 2 hander slashing or a morningstar and shield when tanking, and when soloing or dpsing in group, one crushing one slashing dual wield.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i am training both up cause i figure even if a good crushing or slashing is rare, i will have more options. im a broke woodelf, so options dont hurt,lol.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>anyway, what is available and the best of each at 50+???? am i smart to keep using both?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>thanx for the help!</DIV>

<DIV>I have been playing around with what works best on what mobs, from what I read a while back some mobs will be less resistant to slash ,crush or pierce.  So I have 2 ironwood crudgals and 2 cobalt crecent axes. I have'nt got my pierceing yet.  Honestly i havent noticed a difference on any of the mobs.  I dont think the parcer prog I have works correctly anyway.   If cost is a concern Ironwood is only like 50-75gp on my server, pretty cheep for a T6 rare.</DIV>

<P>Right now im duel weilding using a Mallet of sundering (ancients table) and silverthorn (poets).  Pretty good damage rating on both weapons.  I also have a decent legondary DW piercer from the day and night quest that I can sub in if mob is crush immune.  I am waiting for the 2 hand slasher, Captain's Ever Shifting Voulge, that drops in the Court (shjimmering citadel raid instance).  One has dropped for our guild (on a night i wasnt there).  It will prob take awile, as it is the rare master of a mob that doesnt always drop a master, but it is the best 2 hander i have seen so far.  2 handed weapons seem rare, I raid alot and have not seen any (cept for the priest only one out of lockjaw), which is one of the reasons I am using the DWers.  </P> <P>As far as weapon resists, that will mainly pertain to raid mobs, but some certain named mobs will be immune to one damage type (the eye in poets for example).  Its pretty well balenced though so some are resistant to this, others to something else.  </P> <p>Message Edited by Khalad on <span class=date_text>12-22-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:27 AM</span>

I'm DW with the Mallet of Sundering and the Cane of the Lion Tamer (legendary off of Lion named in SC). Damage is good, though I've read here that peeps say 2 imbued crafted weaps parse better. I'm waiting for a Vogue also, but I'm not gonna dump beaucoup points on it. Stun proc is nice but of course it doesn't work on epics. <div></div>

<P>If you ever start raiding your definatly going to want to have maxed skills and a weapon selection that covers every type available to your class (and since us zerks have all three ... we get a great range of choises to pick from).</P> <P>Its going to be preaty common to see a mob immune to one or two types of damage (vairies from mob to mob)  once you start serious raiding.   If your not raiding then your very unlikly to see mobs immune to weapon types.</P>

Yes some raid mobs are immune to 2 types.  Then there is other annoying stuff.  In one raid instance, there is an encounter of 4 mobs, 3 differant types, 1 immune to slash, 1 immune to pierce, 1 immune to crush.  Very annoying, alot of weapon switching.

For piercing wouldnt the obvious choice be Cobalt Leafblades? I am only lvl 23 but I belive I have seen that they are a great option at that level?

<DIV>who knows what will happen when i gain another ten levels, but right now i am in a small guild with no ties to larger guilds. the chance that i will ever get any raid items is pretty much non existent, lol. so, i guess i will up both since who knows whats available.</DIV>

<div></div><div></div>If your intent is to raid, you will need to maintain skill in at least two weapon types (see below for working combinations). Altho bringing up all three isnt that difficult, cause at 60 what else are you doing? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Crushing & Slashing OR Slashing and Piercing Either of those combo's will cover you for all raid mobs.  Typically raid targets will have either Immunity to Slashing, or Immunity to Crushing&Piercing.  Now, i'm not saying this garunteed, but it is typical. The reason for these types of immunities are because scouts can only use Slashing or Piercing (not counting [a spoon]).  Crushing and Piercing are more or less interchangable. I traditionally go crushing, because its an avenue less people can go (no scouts to compete with). I personally use my Prismatic 2.0 halberd (super-noob-looking-axe-of-ghettoness, as i call it). and an [Araenae Mauler] (terrorantula mace) for blunt, since it has a higher damage ratio then Cobalt 2h.   Hopefully they'll introduce 2h blunt fabled sometime <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  If i have to tank, and the mob is crush resistant, i'll use a [Sandstorm], Fabled 1hs from Cazels. I am also eagerly awaiting an Evershifting Voulge myself. .<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div><p>Message Edited by Mjollnyr on <span class=date_text>12-23-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:24 PM</span>

<DIV>thanks for the input! i have a Ebon imbued claymore since i dinged, and a imbued feysteel morningstar+shield. i will also be picking up a set of maces for dual wield or a 2 handed hammer of some sort so i can keep my crushing up since i RARELY tank for groups, im mostly a solo guy. i left the game for a 6 mo break a while back, since i came back my friends have all gone, and only a few guildys and my wife to play with <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>anyway, i guess i will just keep crushing and slashing up, and when i hit 60 it will be time for piercing,lol.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>anyway, thanks again for the advice <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>
