<DIV>Ok so I just got the game and read about the classes I thought to be  most appealing and though berserker would be very fun. The problem is I for most part solo or play with a friend or two so I dont group allot and have limited playing time. In the prima guide it says that berserkers are terrible at solo and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how they play as I know allot of times these guides can be very wrong or outdated. I would hate to sink a bunch of time into a class that later in levels I find out that its very unenjoyable to play because I cannot solo, thats one reason I left FFXI was because was kinda forced to group in parties. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.</DIV>

Berserker is not the best solo'er, though they can solo okay.  Not too many huge named, but can solo, it won't be too efficient either.<BR>A Berserker is a warrior with a bloodlust, more so on a rage than other classes.  They deal out good DPS (for a fighter) and extraordinary AoE DPS.<BR><BR>Berserkers defensive stance grants them a bonus against cold resist making them "The best cold tanks."<BR><BR>Zerkers are best in a duo or trio (not solo), but can also tank great even in raids.<BR><BR> <DIV>A lot of your abilities as a Zerker will be taunts & group buffs, so if you aren't a "group player" well.... then perhaps this isn't the best road for you.<BR><BR>The most efficient soloers in the game are Summoners.</DIV> <DIV>The best solo'n fighter would be a Brawler(Bruiser/Monk).<BR><BR><BR>I really reccomend Berserker and think you'll have a blast, but note that Zerkers are best groupped, not solo.<BR><BR><BR>Hope that helped, Goodluck & enjoy EQ2.<BR><BR>P.S. <P>psssst...here is a lil secret. now, this is not going to get me any points with brawlers or scouts, but we have killer dps if you spend your money and traits on strenth and strenth alone.</P> <P>i have spent my last 39 levels with my wood elf zerker trying to get more strenth. at level 30 i had broken the 200 strenth barrier. from level 20 till now i have been able to out parse most monks and bruisers, even a few swashys and brigs.</P> <P>my strenth currently when buffed is over 230. i have a gorehorn two handed sword, and with my strenth i am able to melee hit, no skills, for over 230 points in damage every 2.5 seconds, with an occasional 250 damage hit. thats just with auto attack.</P> <P>we can solo REALLY well, its way easier to solo with a melee class than with a caster. casters are alot "harder", they have roots and tethers or pets to protect themselves. we have thick armour and avoidance. there isnt alot of skill.</P> <P> </P> <P>if you wanna solo, just buy or loot the gear with the most strenth you can possibly find. when i was 27 i was able to parse as much damage as a 23 wizzy on a lvl 25 heroic, lol. trust me, we do fine soloing...the secret with us is our strenth. but dont tell anyone, i dont wanna get nerfed...hush hush, you know?</P> <P> </P> <P>p.s. by 50 i hope to have strenth capped at 300....muahahahaaah.</P>

It all depends on what you want to solo. As a level 35 berserker with 2 piece of legendary gear and a legendary crushing weapon, I can solo 1. anything none heroic up to a pair of 2 yellow con (2 levels above). 2. anything none heroic up to 4 even con 3. any heroic single 3 arrows 9 levels below including named 4. any group heroic 2 arrows up  8 levels below 5 any group heroic 1 arrows up 7 levels below Self buffed to 160 str, 92 sta, 88 agi, 51 wis.  Not the best soloing class but can solo pretty well. With 70++ in combat regen, killing heroic green con 8 levels below are easy. Mostly end the fight with full hp. However, got killed by 4 mobs of 2 arrows up heroic. They chain stifled me until dead...<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Overall I find that playing berserker is more fun than playing my necromancer...more challenging...<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

I don't solo that much but i duo with a warden all the time.  Not much we cant do together.  Add with that any caster and you got yourself a small but very effective group.   <div></div>

<DIV>I have limited knowledge as a Zerker. Only lvl 23 as yet. But from my experience I can say you will have a great time grouping and probably come to enjoy it and you can solo when need be. You said you can play for limited time? What is limtied time? 1 hour at a time? that would help because there are places up to lvl 43 ( My troub) that you can get into a group for an hour and be productive? If you gave more specifics you could get an even better response. In the short time I have been trolling the Zerker forums I have seen some extremely intelligent posters in here that will hook you up with the info and most have experience with multiple classes.</DIV>

<DIV>i have played several classes, and honestly, its how you design your character and what you enjoy. up to level 40 i had been more effectivbe at soloing than my wifes monk, and she used to be a more effective small group tank than myself. that has all changed though. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>due to her high agility she doesnt get hit very much by yellow and under non heroic mobs. she is now adept at solo'ing, where my heavy armour slows me down and my avoidance is no longer great. yet at the same time, my mitigation has become more of a factor than it was before. in the past, it didnt seem to matter as much, now, i can take a hit from a mob, and i take half the damage my wife takes from the same mob.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so, the real thing is, classes always changed, i have leveled up many fighters...everything but a SK or a bruiser, and they all have their strenths and weaknesses.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>if you like taking on big yellow or white non heroic triple arrow down groups that would normally hand a monk their butt, play a zerker. if you wanna be end all dps, play a bruiser, heck, skip the fighter class and go straight to caster or stabber,lol.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>seriously though, we are good at soloing AND grouping. its all in what you want out of the game, my wizzy is good at soloing, but its alot "harder" than my zerker, cause when i solo with my zerker all i have to do is make sure my AOE's dont hit a non aggro mob. with my wizzy its a constant battle to keep the mob stunned and tethered, lol. and there is no running away with my wizzy, if the mobs i am soloing start to hit me, the only hope is to stun and hope a tether sticks, cause i wouldnt get far running, no hit points,lol.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>its all in what you want out of the game my friend.</DIV>

Totally agree with the above poster. SK and Bruiser might be better at soloing a single mob. However, when it comes to group mob, berserker comes into his own. You can kill group mobs(3-6 mobs) faster than the other fighter classes. As you gain level, you becomes better and better at dealing aoe damage. With high mitigation reducing the damage and high in-combat regen,  you  can solo well. If you like to be able to take the hits and enjoy dealing aoe damage instead of mainly single target high melee damage, you'll like berserker class.  You won't be able to kill as fast as a scout or mage but you can handle group mobs much easier then them when soloing. <div></div>
