<DIV>When you /respec, do you get the same list of choices along the way minus the choice you already made?</DIV> <DIV>i.e. if you choose str the first time you have it as a choice, but agi and sta are also choices, when the next</DIV> <DIV>choice for sta/agi comes up, there's is no str option. I think it may have been replaced by another option or left</DIV> <DIV>off completely. It's been a while since I respec'd but how different can you actually make your character stat wise?</DIV>

no when you do a respect you lose all the stats and things you got in the past and have to choose them all again and you get all the same choices <div></div>

<P>Thanks for the reply, but I need to be more clear.</P> <P>When you respec, and your first list of choices comes up...if you choose str instead of sta or agi for that choice, will your next choice that includes str, sta, agi be missing str because you already choose it?</P> <P>I know I'm not being clear...how many times can you choose str over sta or agi?</P> <P>I know some choices are resists and such...but I am curious how different you can actually make your stats by going str all the way or sta all the way?</P>

um...if i'm not mistaken each choice that is given is exactly the same every time you go through a respec no matter what you picked for another choice previous to that one. i'm not aware that they will change like that based on previous choices you made. in one of my repsecs i chose all sta options (there are a toal of 4 options that allow you to increase your stats outside of your racial traits i believe) and in the last one i did i went back and traded 2 of my sta options for 2 str options instead, but all the same options were there when i did that. for example one of the choices you get to pick from is called "muscular" and gives +4str and that option is still going to be there on that particular choice page with the other choices it gives along with that even if you chose another str option previous to that. <div></div>

<P>Exactly what I wanted to know. Ty again.</P> <P>It only came up because I remember only having crap choices on my assassin when he hit (50?).</P> <P>There was no str or agi or sta. I think int was there and I thought maybe because I already choose sta/agi/str I had used them all<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

Yeah, the only ones that "go away" are the racial traditions, I believe. (So if you picked +5 weaponsmithing or +5 defense or whatever the first time, you can't get it again.)

^ um no that's not true either. the whole point of a respec is so you go through all your choices again and get everything you really want. so you do get all the same choices, if you didn't then you would be totally screwed. every time i have done a respect i have gotten all the same choices again, including racial traits, i am positive about that. it's not like there is that many racial traits to start with. every time i've done a respec (which is like 3 or 4 times now) i have always picked the same racial traits every time. <div></div>

You're right, I was unclear with that comment. I meant that if you pick weaponsmithing at level 18, you can't pick weaponsmithing again at level 38 or whatever. However, unlike the racial traits, the str/sta/agi/int/wis choice happens again every time, so you could pick str every time.

As far as respecing goes...I will ask a more detailed question at a later time...but in general, is it wiser to take defense oriented or offense oriented choices. My char is from b4 the big changes and I will have to do alot of respecing.

<div></div><div></div>"is it wiser to take defense oriented or offense oriented choices." the whole reason there are choices is so you can pick what traits you want your char to have. that is something you have to decide for yourself. personally i chose 2 str options and 2 sta options and all the max hp options from what was available. and out of the resist options i chose heat, magic, and mental. but then i also got to choose a disease resist and another str and sta option as well as a bonus to my power pool from my racial traits. <div></div><p>Message Edited by infernus006 on <span class=date_text>12-19-2005</span> <span class=time_text>12:55 PM</span>

Thx for the info infernus....and yes...I agree that it is a personal choice. I was just wondering, post massive changes, if it was over all wiser to go O or D. I took O last time and prolly would this time all things being equal. From what I understand, we got nerfed a bit and we don't dole out as much dmg as we used to nor are we agro magnets that we once were. Not that we are bad, just less so in those areas....but pls correct me if I am wrong....I ahvn't played at all since the revamps. But I had pretty decent normal gear then using PGT, SBH and (i think sword of thunder...but maybe it was the other special quest sword which i can't remember the name). Had some other nice DW gear to keep up on my skills. But anyway...that was wayyyyy off topic. Wold you say your char was more D or O oriented?

"Wold you say your char was more D or O oriented?" well it's hard to say. i tried to make it more balanced rather than more one way or the other. <div></div>
