I would like to know peoples opinion on how to value stats vs mitigation vs power/health? Can stats be quantified in a way that allows a given item to have an overall value? Example: FBSS +8 Strength +6 Wisdom +8 Agility +36 Health +36 Power +400 vs. Divine +320 vs.Mental Mitigation: 57 Haste - 20% - Permanent How would you asign point values this item? 8 str 6 wis 8 agi 36 Health 36 Power 57 mitigation 20% haste 1 pt strength = 1pt 1 pt wisdom = 0.5pt 1 pt agility = 0.5pt 1 pt health = 1pt 1 pt power = 1pt 1 pt mitigation = 1pt 1 pt haste = 1pt For the FBSS = 164 pts

FBSS is actually 15% haste, not 20%. That said here is how I do stats.

Basically I figure out what my line is and just follow it. Since I like to tank, for me the biggest *weighted* stat is mitigation because I feel it provides the largest return for the smallest gain. After mitigation I'll balance strength against stamina followed by agility. Raw health and power points don't sway me much unless they are significantly greater then the item being compared to. Resists only play in if they are HUGE in one stat or have something for every resist.

Buuncha Muskuls

Ogre 'zerker

Bring on the Blood!

Jewelry doesn't have mitigation anymore, btw.

Of course, it's a pretty subjective process. But here is roughly what I do... With armor, the first thing I look at is mitigation. I check the item's value against what I already have in that slot to get an idea of how much mitigation it will add. Then I check out the primary stats. I add up all the stats that are important to me for each item... STR + AGI + STA. This will tell me, overall, how much I'll be adding or losing. Items with one or two very high stats are also given special consideration, as they can often make a big difference in areas where I may be lacking. Then I add up the resists for each item and compare. Again, this works well for an overall 'value' comparison. Make sure to factor in WIS bonuses as well. Particularly high resists in one or two areas is also a factor, because it may help to fill out a hole you have in your stats or help against certain types of mobs. And of course, special adornments can be given very high value depending on what they do. For me, I will not be taking off my FBSS until I see another item with comparable haste come my way. The same goes for the Robe of the Invoker on my Illusionist. The power regen outweighs the +10 Int I could get from a different robe, imo.
