<DIV> <DIV>well so far i have played a guardian and was dissappointed, now, i am playing a zerker and from all the posts ive read it seems like people are happy with the class and so far i have no complains though i have only gotten to level 20 with him so i really havent branched out at all... but here is the deal...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i solo alot or duo... i generally do not have the time to group. so, i am curious what people who have played the classes think... i know people crunch numbers to find out what is what.... my play style is as follows:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1) i solo and duo alot</DIV> <DIV>2) i like gear... cool weapons and such</DIV> <DIV>3) i like dps</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>so, im not sure if i should stick out the zerker and he will be good for me.... not sure what kind of dps they will do... but, they are not far from the guardian class so it concerns me... seeing as guardians did no dps... i been reading the brigands and they seem to have a bit of utility... they are dps from what i read.. have stealth, evac, track etc... these abilies seem very useful... especially when soloing... and if a scout class woudl fit my play style better wich im starting to think it will... which scout class... who does the best dps? i see some are more range style fighting and others are getting into the battle type... i definitly like getting into the battle more then sitting back.... any info people have that have played the classes would be great... i would like to get behind oone toon and have fun instead of doing the same content over and over again... anyone out there try both classes???</DIV></DIV>

For level 20 and below, guardian and berserker are exactly the same. You won't see much difference until you get to level 29. 1. Zerker can solo pretty well if you choose your target carefully. However, you need to keep you gear and CA upgraded if you want to solo 2-3 yellow con(2 levels above) solo encounter. Always close fight. For single target, Brigand class is much better. For 3++ group mobs, berserker can do better. 2. Zerker has more weapons choices. Can use almost all weapons. Brigands cannot use any of the 2-hander wepons. 3. Brigands has better dps but cannot tank very well in a duo group(if you plan on using him as a tank). <span><blockquote><hr>Grunjalug wrote:<div><div> </div> <div>1) i solo and duo alot</div> <div>2) i like gear... cool weapons and such</div> <div>3) i like dps </div> </div><hr></blockquote></span> <div></div>

thanks firewolf... i was wondering about how many levels above a zerker could solo.. my brother plays a bard and is soloing things 3 levels over and i am struggling to fight things one level over... as you stated and my brother stated that i really need to upgrade my gear and see what happens... which i am in the process of doing... good info thanks

In EL while questing, my zerker could solo mob up to 4 levels above him at level 30. Most of the gear are just normal T4 crafted except the BP. He is using Ebon Eyed BP(level 29, 210 mitigation with a bunch of stats). Have to use a feysteel morningstar and a briarwood tower shield in offensive stance to take down mobs that are 2-4 levels above(1 arrow down) or the 2-3 group(2 arrows down) mobs 2 levels above. Could not do them with DW or 2HS. Fight typically took 30 to 60 sec. For mobs 4 levels above, my zerker's health usually end up in orange, sometimes in red if he gets a string of misses and resists. Probably could do better once I get my hands on crafted legendary gear and weapons. Hope that gives you an idea on what to expect later on if you choose to play a zerker...) <div></div>

Berserker is a class that matures with age. They are really dont come into their own until 50+ after gaining their staple spell, rampage. Before that Berserkers and guardians arent that far apart. Guardians are more defensive slighty, Berserkers are more offensive slightly. Brigands are great dps, have alot of utility. They can solo quite well, and I have noticed that while they dont tank like a fighter. Of the scout classes they are probably the best for taking hits. If you didn't enjoy guardians, i suspect you may have a difficult time with berserker. If your willing to grunt out the pain of the first 50 levels or so, you'll really enjoy Berserker. I believe a key point that you need to truely enjoy the berserker is the love of tanking. Thats what we have to live for initially. If you dont prefer to tank, but love raw damage. Try Brigand, it can be a fun class, and when duo'ing; dead mobs dont hit back. You may just find yourself enjoying those first 50 levels as well as the last ten. Note: I'm not saying berserkers are tedious and boring pre-50. I personally had a ton of fun pre-50. But the fact is, berserkers dont truely shine til post 50. <div></div>

<P>I'm sick of the whole 'zerkers don't shine till post 50' attitude. Let me first qualify my remark by stating that I am a level 55 zerker.</P> <P>We shine from about level 30 on. We become 'insane' at about 50.</P> <P>What it is, is we're a MUCH Better offensive tank than a Guardian, but they are better defensively. We hold agro better in my opinion, and we GAIN agro better. But when we get rampage, our multi-mob encounter DPS becomes rediculas. We go from being 'good' DPS to 'great' DPS. I tell you, the more i do 'post 50' the more my DPS rises. I parse from time to time myself now, and when i or other people parse, on solo mobs we do good ... but not amazing. When its the multi-mob encounters though look out, we're fantastic. </P> <P>I wish we had more utility, but i will say I think we are the most 'well rounded' of the tank classes. I personally prefer the mitigation tank stuff to the avoidance tanking because you can better judge things like damage for healing purposes (my alt is a Mystic). We do better DPS than Guardians (and i think Pally's and SK's too but i'm not sure), we're fantastic soloing, and with our stuns/interrupts we really can help out in special situations by chain stunning mobs.</P> <P>I Just wanted to share my thoughts on this, thank you all for listening <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>
