- Dual wield weapons will now do slightly more damage. From test LU16. Think it might actually worth it to dual wield now instead of a two hander?

Also, this is in the test update notes "It is now harder to riposte when the attacker is landing many attacks quickly and easier to riposte when the attacker is swinging less frequently".

If that applies to mobs also, maybe dual wield will be viable, damage would be up and take less damage because of the fast swings?

Yeah sounds interesting. I prefer to dual wield but have been two handing it for a while due to the more damage I do that way. This my allow me to go back to being a madman with attacks.

I keep a set of dual wields for piercing, slashing, and crushing. I find myself using those weapons more than I do my shield and 1hs. About the only time I take out my shield and ghoulebane is when I am tanking in a group and use the extra proc the shield gives to keep agro better, as well as not take as much damage. I am working on the bbc hq and will prolly use that quite frequently when I finish the quest. To my way of thinking it all breaks down to this. In a main tank role shield and 1hs/c is the way I always end up going. In a off tank or solo/duo role I most often dual wield a type of weapon depending on what seems to hit harder on the mobs I am killing. Its all preference prolly, but switching weapons out keeps things interesting on long grinds or camps.

I find it strange that there doing this because there is no difference between a 2 hander and Dual weilds of the same quaility and Tier raw damage wise.

I suppose it is a welcome change though seeing as the slower the wep the higher proc ratio you will get. So yes, it does make sense when you look at it from that aspect.

If it is real...this change makes sense to me. After scrounging weeks on end for cobalt for armor I faced a dilemma - use my extra cobalt for a 2hnd slasher or make one dual slasher and then spend 4 plat for another to do exactly the same damage. If duals and 2hndrs do the same damage why would ANYONE EVER spend the extra plat or rares to have legendary duals made?

unless you just have it to burn

Well in LU16b dual is getting this: *** Items *** - Dual-wield weapons should now trigger their proc effects more frequently. - Shields will now correctly display their chance to block on the Persona window. The displayed value corresponds to the shield factor of the shield. NOTE: This was a display bug only. Block chances were being computed correctly in combat.

Yeah its about time Dual Weild got some loving, we getting increased proc ratio's on Dual Weild also.

Does dual proc more often then SIngle or 2 handlers? I remembere there is a specific calculation for that...

Also, would like to know how it has changed coz I hated dual weild as a Heavy Armor wearer. Personally a HA fighter weilding weapons so rapidly is kinda strange and unusual IMO (lol).

Message Edited by Matek on 11-05-2005 06:08 PM
