Why does everything on cobalt increase over ebon except resists. Most of the resists go down. If its an upgrade shouldn't the resists at least be equal if not better?

This may be becuase SOE has messed up YET again on armor. Or maybe the T6 rare armor should be sucky. :p

Prov Alone 42nd Zerker of Toxxulia

Member of Hand of Suffering

Might be intentional. Magic resists cap out at 70% now. They prob wanted to make that number harder to reach. T6 Fabled is same way, lower resists then the T5 fabled.

When you say resist cap is 70% what do you mean. 70% of what and what are some hard numbers if you have them. 2000, 1500 etc. Thnx

when it says 70% in your persona, no reason to go further

Do we know if the cap is 70% versus an even con regardless of what you're fighting, or is it 70% versus the mob in question?

If the cap was strictly based on your level, then you can stop at 4200. But if it was based on the level you were fighting against, then you'd need 4550 to achieve 70% versus a level 65 mob. Being capped at 4200 would limit you to a sub-70% cap versus yellow+ mobs.

najena.konk

pretty sure its jus the even con formula. Can have 4200 and hover the mouse over it and it will say 70%. Can buff another 1000, will still say 70%

70% is visible cap. I believe its alittle more complicated. All examples assume your lvl 60. Examples: Numbers may not be exact, just using them to get the idea across. 4200 resist vs a lvl 60 is 70% (this we know) 4200 resist vs a lvl 61 maybe only 65% 4200 resist vs a lvl 65 maybe only 50% Now, this would take some testing to verify. But i have reason to believe its true, i'll explain after the example Examples: remember i'm just using numbers to get the idea cross 5000 resist vs a lvl 60 mob is 70% 5000 resist vs a lvl 61 mob maybe 70% 5000 resist vs a lvl 65 mob maybe 65% Reason i believe this maybe true, i was tanking a mob that did pure cold melee(auto-attack) damage, and i had my resist at 6200 The mob was lvl 64, and never hit me for more than 800(range: 300-800). lvl 64 epicx4. He hit the guardians with 3000-3500 cold resist for 2000-4000 damage each hit. Therefore resists that take you above 4200(70%) are still useful when tanking mobs higher than your level.
