Hi everyone, I'm thinking of making a Berserker as my main character and I'm wondering how difficult it will be to have enough money to keep my equipment current, given that I won't be tradeskilling (I tried tradeskilling a few times and I really wasn't good at it, might try again in a long time but not for now) and I may not get an opportunity to raid. In other words, whether I make enough money to keep current armor/weapons just by questing and selling Adept 1 drops and armor I don't want etc. I'm asking because I'm a refugee from that other game commonly known as...that other game...where I played a warrior. When I got to high levels I found that good equipment was pretty much out of reach for me and I was terribly weak compared to most other players. Thanks very much!

it's not that hard, you can harvest for rares to get nice gear made and you just have to pay the crafter a fee to make the gear for you, which usually isn't too bad

right now i have a full set of cobalt vanguard, a cobalt 1h and 2h weapon, ironwood tower sheild, and a lot of vanadium on my right side, and this is all imo very nice gear

i harvested all the rares for it except 1 that i baught for 3pp

i paid 15-45g for each piece of cobalt armor and 15-25g for each piece of vanadium jewerly i have, 70g to have both of my cobalt weapons made, and 25g for the ironwood tower sheild

You can alwyas buy decent gear through quests and selling from ur room. In the early lvls, it is all real cheap anyway. As you get post 20, you do your armor quests and get free geat stuff that will last you through much of the 20's. So you can be pretty well equpted using a shoe string budget. So have at it.

its not that hard if you do the harvesting or just look for really good deals. for example, i found a feysteel cluster, then found one on the broker for sale for 1 gold. i managed to get some feysteel flachions(the ones with the nice damage and buff, not player made, the dropped ones) for 2 gold each. then i found a dandylion fiber and got a hex doll made for a few gold. those are just a few of the items, but when all was said and done, i am level 32 and completely outfitted in rares and legendary imbued equipment, and i spent about 40 gold. to give some perspective, all i have to do is find a few rare bones, collectables, or just save loot for a week, and now i have a full set of really nice gear.

am i totally outfitted with the best gear in the game at level 30? no. am i outfitted with very good gear and able to tank and dps well? most definatly! did i spend a fortune? definatly not!

anyway, you can get good gear for cheap, just be prepared to take time out of grinding to do quests and collect anything you can to sell for it, or use on the armour or weapon

hope that helped

(edited because i cant type)

Message Edited by RaunII on 10-14-2005 04:42 PM
