<DIV>DPS = damage per second, so you are correct.  Armor doesn't matter, both can wear plate mail.  Before the combat upgrade, guardians were the ones to go to for tanks, better buffs and such, beserkers could tank but were better for damage output.  Now, after combat upgrade, it doesn't seem to really matter cause from the guardians I've talked to guardians aren't as great as they use to be tanking wise and zerkers have become a little better at tanking then they use to be.  I would still go with a guardian as main tank (MT) if I grouped with one because thats their job and are designed that way.  I solo a lot so haven't been the MT for many groups.  Read up on the different class forums and see what people are saying about them.  For me, I was enjoying playing a zerker before the upgrade, took some getting use to and a lot of relearning after the upgrade and I'm enjoying the changes (for my class, their are other issues that aren't so favorable, but thats another post...).  Hope this helped...............</DIV>

One other thing to think about and this is just my opinion.   If you choose to go guardian, if you group alot (or want to), your group members are going to look to you as the MT and to control the situation i.e. keeping aggro, catching any incoming adds (creatures that wonder into a fight you've already begun).   The times I've been MT, I've had to stay on the ball and watch whats going on around me, making sure the healers and casters don't steal aggro from me (cause it's going to happen).  It's fun being in control of a situation, but its rough if its your fault the group wipes.  Some things to think about.

imo zerkers are just as good at tanking as guards...zerkers just get more offensive ca's and buffs and guardians get more defensive ones...so technically with a guardian's group will be able to stay alive longer in fights but a zerker's group will be able to take the mobs down faster...so you just need to decide which way you want to go, either way your role in most groups will be the same, you will still be expected to tank most of the time and if you have any skill you will be able to do it very well, at least that's the way it's been from my experience as a zerker
