I've seen zerkers using several different types and styles of gear. Unfortunately I'm the only zerker I know, but this is what I've done.

I'm currently a lvl 46 Troll Berzerker. I've gone for the gear that gives the 242 mit. (ie lava forged, ebon, rubicant, all chest dropped). I do have a pristine imbuned ebon curiass, but that is the only legendary armor I have atm. I've tried to balance my savings throws. I've gotten everything to 1k or really close. Since I'm a Troll I had to get some extra save vs. heat. And since our defensive stance adds a huge save vs. cold, I've gone for armor that saves better vs. everything else. Keep you stanima up. But I 've gonna away from sta specific gear, since the bonus isn't what it used to be. With our new Strength buff I've tried find balanced gear with agi, sta, and str. I currrently I have 192 or 210 strength depending on what weapon I'm using. If I remember correctly, I have 3500hp and 2000ish power self-buffed, solo, not using either stance. Mit is around 1800-2000.

I'm not in a raiding guild, for now. Not sure how those guys get dressed in the morning. Hope this is helpful.

I'm going to make this kinda general, but it should give you an idea.

Whenever possible try to get ebon armor for your big 2 pieces atleast (chest/legs). Then fill in the rest as suits you. Other than that you should try get rubicite to fill in any other slots. I would say at level 45 you'd still be grinding alot in which case resists might not be your biggest concern. So go for heavy mitigation gear (champions wrist from SP Solo Arena) as most mobs will use crushing. For weapons the best advice I can give you is try to get a big slow two - hander (executioners axe I think is like 2.7 or 2.8, but I could be wrong so ask your weaponsmith). If you can't afford Ebon Imbued or a EBBC then go for a Heirophants Crook (Heritage) or a Serrated Bone Dirk (Heritage) + Short Sword of Ykesha (Heritage). They'll take a while to do, but atleast they'll be legendary.

One thing I will toss out there is that rather than getting ebon past BP + Legs, I'd try to save your money for Ruby/Rhodiums to upgrade some of your spells to Adept 3, since right now spells have huge increases in damage as they go up in level. So this might be more effective than upgrading to ebon for 10-15 mitigation more.
