My guild tried a little raiding this Sunday after almost a week of no raiding, so everyone could learn their classes again and find out what they bring to the raid table. There were no Guardians at the raid so I got my shot at the experimentation raid. We spent about an hour going through classes for the main tank group to get my avoidanace and mitigation as high as possible, finding out what classes didn't stack and so on. So we finally found the best combiniation pre-potion my HP were at 7k, my mitigation was at 3500 my avoidance was at 58.8 and my defense was at 293.

So we decide to do Drayek as a warm up mob since he is definately an easy target. Well I got owned, he was hitting me like a level 5 mage. So the Sk in my group stepped up, got aggro, and tanked him the rest of the way just fine.

So we then try another target, Tremblar, a mob that was great with a zerker as MT pre-combat changes. The first wave of elementals spawn and they own me in about 5 seconds, every single add was hitting me for 1000-1500, and the named in the group was hitting for 2300-3000. The SK in my group was also getting hit for the same amount so we decided this was going to need alittle more strategy and perhaps a guardian so we ended the raids for the day.

Pre-combat changes I have successfully tanked numorous x4 encounters. Our guild can figure strats out, we are very capable so don't feed me some BS about finding the right group cominations and tweaking our strats, these old world mobs are very over powered now and need lokking at.

So my question to all you zerkers out there is, What old world x4 raid mobs have you successfully tanked since combat changes?

Message Edited by eqaddixx on 09-19-2005 10:26 AM

Mentored down to level 43 to tank Cappy in CoD. So 40ish Mystic, Wizard, Necro, Troubador and myself at 43 Zerker. Cappy is Level 33 Epic x2. We won, barely, and I "died" to Exploding Heart. Skelly hits hard now >< EDIT: I know this isn't x4, but I don't raid normally but wanted to respond anyway =D

Message Edited by Sokolov on 09-19-2005 10:17 AM

Broog the Giant in Sinking Sands was brought down (Innovation) yesterday with a 51 Berserker MTing and a 50/51 Guardian Offtanking. But both had good gear (well better then mine *g*, means alot of fabled)
Message Edited by pashtuk on 09-19-2005 10:26 AM
That'll be because Broog is catered for the changes. He is a new mob and therefore his hp/mp/abilities are in line with yours. The "old world" raids have not be changed yet as SoE has stated. Basically, you will have a very tough time beating them as things stand but SoE are looking at changing them soon to be more in line with how our classes are now.

I haven't tried tanking any raid mobs since the patch but I have had no trouble tanking the 57 ^^^ heroics in PoF with a full 6-person group (sometimes with adds) and have also taken out several of the yellow heroic Specters around the bay in SS with just a healer and a mage and killed several of the ^^^ names in SS as well with just a healer and a scout, if that means anything to you. Of course these are mobs in DoF. FYI a 50 Guard that's in my guild who had a 50 Temp with him got creamed by the gray epics in CH which used to be no trouble for either of us prior to the patch. I haven't tried them yet myself though. Furthermore, both this Guard and also another 50 Guard I spoke with last night outside of my guild have expressed extreme displeasure with the CC and stated that they can't seem to take hits nearly as well as they used to be able to and also tend to get owned in PvP, which I have not had much of a problem with.
Message Edited by infernus006 on 09-19-2005 02:00 PM

No, all the single target buffs were on me of course. So maybe it was just bad luck on heals with Drayek. But these mobs still need looking at and a dev responce to any of the 100 posts about raiding would be great.

**Not being disrespectful**

If you were being hit for 1k-1.5k by the adds then you need to go defensive / anarchy because that is wrong somehow... The hardest I have been hit post-expansion is 1.7k by a level 64^^^ at level 57. I think I am around 3k mit self buffed, don't exactly remember how much due to me not being online and not home, which wouldn't make sense for the 3500mit. No clue, just make sure you had defensive stance on...

Have you tanked any old world mobs or is your knowledge of mob damage based on DoF mobs?

Went against temblar last night and you need off tanking on that DPS style so eventually you pull aggro whetehre u want to our not......

Never even made it past the 30 sec mark. I dont think I've seen that many ppl wipe that fast since we tried Krathuk for the first time.

talk about no chance in hell

Im the main tank in my guild. We doing raids nighly, just like before the patch. Shakuto and Makuto, Feerrott, Drayek, Zek...i also tanked all 3 drakotas in the deception and Vox in the instanced. Overall, im tanking better than i was doing it before the patch. So far the only one cousing problems is the King in Commonlands. The adds are just not scaled, 3 adds lv 54 ^^^? a lil too much..maybe my assist is not good, but i dont know, it seems not scaled.
