It's easy enough to hold agro as it was before, i just pull with a taunt, get myself rooted in a stance, then start the melee and throw up one more taunt for good measure and the group bombs away. Same as before cept i actually use the stances now. </DIV> <DIV><BR>Our DPS has taken a little bit of a hit, not nearly what I feared though i will admit. Our Vanquish took a big hit though. I also don't like the way certain CA's changed. Wasnt Maul an interrupt also pre-revamp? Either way, i'm not going to go too crazy about that, because i was actually anticipating MORE of a nerf in that regard. Does that make it better? Not really, but just how i'm looking at it.</DIV> <DIV><BR>Utility, wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwow our buffs are no longer nearly as cool as they were before. We can buff Str nicely but i miss being able to add crazy HPs to the group. I'm sorry but 49 hps a tick or whatever they are from some of these things, is attrocious. I'd MUCH rather be able to add over 1,000 HPs and regen at the normal rate. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Speaking of HPs, that follows my next thing also, Defense. I haven't seen too much of a difference in regards to other classes and ours with this, i think we'd be almost as good as guardians but with ALOT less HPs normally. Myself and my guilds Guardian (i am a 49 zerk, shes a 50 guardian) respec'ed mostly with Mana stuff (no adding of HPs there, just mana and mana regen), and she has a TON more HPs than me. Also Why the hell the change to weapon shield/guard? I don't nearly use it as much as i used to now. I would see a signifigant difference damage taken wise when it was up, but now i dont see a signifigant increase in damage caused when using it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Overall i liked our class ALOT better before the changes. Did the changes make me not want to play a zerker? No, but they did take away our versitility. Did i agree that we were 'over powered' and certain other classes broken? Sure, but dont simply break us to make them all better. If they woulda done all they did but NOT take away our HP buffs and add in the aweful regen crap, i would be happier. Those added HPs help, especially if the MT (be it myself, or the guardian) loses agro for a moment, the hits to our guildies wont be nearly as bad because they have so much extra HP.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thats just my two cents and how the changes have affected/not affected my gameplay in regular groups. Soloing alot has changed, so its not as easy for me to talk about that ... but two 47 blue solo single mob things did some nice damage to me and almost had me yesterday ... either way i probably am going to play my mystic more now, due to guild needs. But I am hoping for a 'cookie' from the Devs, some kinda fix to the zerker class to give us something we can be the best at amongst tanks. AOE Damage i keep hearing, but i have what .... 3 AOE damage spells with long as reticks. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So i'll say i'm disappointed, but not nearly as much as i thought i would be.</DIV>

I really prefer my zerk post changes. I know there were some nerfs to the hp buffs and such but I pull out great DPS and I've managed to be a solid MT with no issues whatsoever. I love our stuns and utlity and that it actually takes skill to effectivly play. With the right combo of buffs, skills and weapons I can drop yellow con mobs in seconds and thats just fun to me heh. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>My only real problem now is how defensive stance really isn't useful UNLESS you are mt. I would love to fight more defensively vs mobs....I'd think it would help me vs group situations and such but when I parse things out that just isn't the case. I lose so much offense weapon skills that my fights drag on so much longer that the loss of dps does not compensate. (well the defensive does work well vs greens and blues but who wants to fight those? hehe)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also I'd like to add something about group utility. As off-tank I really really really like our infuriat (name?) buff. Giving the MT additional chances to avoid has really taken some strain off of our healers. The STR buff also seems to parse group DPS up a bit in fighter heavy groups. Nothing substantial though.</DIV>

<DIV>Oh trust me, you won't hear my complain about maintaining agro, it's the same as before to me (really easy) as a zerker. Hell i grab agro from our Guardian MT all the time by accident (without even dropping taunts)...i steal agro more often than our DPSers...why? No fricken clue, i dont use stances or taunts when OTing (cept for the occasional attempt to pull adds or other things off of casters in the case that the MT is busy). But i will still say despite how nice Infuriate is the other stuff is missed, by myself and my mates at least.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I don't know, maybe I was just used to being 'uber' for too long, but i think going from uberness to 'eh, ok' is a big step. If Zerks' were like this all along, i probably woulda picked a healer, or maybe even a Monk ... but my biggest problem is that now i'm kinda locked in. True i can always start another char, and i do have one whos a 24, but all the time and everything i put into my Zerker brought an attachment which means i'll play him even through all these things. I just wish they would make us the best at something again, we dont have the cool Evac like SK's do, we dont have heals like Pally's/SKs/Monks get, we dont have crazy HPs/mit/Avoidance numbers like Guardians ... we're like the whole "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" saying.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just want to be the best class at 'something'...I tank fine, it's just we're not the best tank, we're not the best utilty, defense, offense, not the best 'anything'...despite our lack of heals/evac i still thought we were the best 'addition' to a group because of the HP/Str we could add.</DIV>

There are a couple good things about it we tnk ok, we give good str, we have decent interrupt and stuns, and as long as we are tnking we can put out alot fo dmg. Im not sure what class people have been playing with but we do not hold aggro anywhere near as well as we use to. i have monks swashies and mages pulling unreclaimable aggro off me constatly. WE lost our aggro that we accrued from our Dmg and abilties. The Beserk abilty might as well be taken out of the game 17% attack speed isnt even noticable then on top of 2 of our defesinve abilties minusing liek 30% attack speed it is null and voided. Our abilties suck and are boring they do dmg and and that is it. Our taunts lost ther special abilties. I have dueled jsut about every class out there and where i have brought all fo them to all most red i havnt killed one i have done this several times exploiting any weakness they may have and unless we use special potions or have super uber fabled gear we dont stand a chance. We are no longer in my opinion fun to play i dont get any excitment from a 5 min battle where i get knock down to 15% health by and yellow.....</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So..... <P>I love the changes, been playing since release back in Oct 2004, and i love the changes. All the Berserkers who join the Server wide berserker channel love the changes, probally more so because we all feed back each other and help each other out instead of putting negative feed back in forums about a class they dont fully understand.</P> <P>Tanking is harder across the board, not just for Plate class tanks but for everyone, if your trying the same strats you used before the revamp, you only have yourself to blame for being so blind.</P> <P>Epic boss mobs do need to be adjusted, take The Mangler in RV for example, epic x2 lvl 48 mob, we went there with 1 and a half groups of all lvl 48+ people, I tried tanking him the first time, he wiped the floor with us. He hit me in rapids of 3, 1971, 1865, 1996, then finished me off with his next round. We filled up the second group with another few healers and went at it again. Failed again, same thing. The healers could just not heal me fast enough to stop him from doing the crazy amount of damage output he was doing.</P> <P>This is the main problem which has already been pointed out by Moorgard on a number of occasions, if you come up against Epic encounters that are some what extremely over powered, bug report it so they can look into it. Coming here and saying we cant tank and posting misinformation of the sorts is just plain rude to say the least.</P> <P>As for me, wife and i can Duo the lvl 49 <STRONG>^^</STRONG> and 50 <STRONG>^^</STRONG> named mobs in Sinking Sands and i have been mentoring a group of mid lvl 30's and been killing all sorts of mobs in RV, RE, EL. If we try and Duo a lvl 48 <STRONG>^^^</STRONG> or 49 <STRONG>^^^</STRONG> we get the beat down, add a third player and its all good, its not easy, but its a really good challenge, its a great challenge.</P> <P>Its feels great that there is risk envolved now, it makes people open there eyes and think about what there doing.</P>
<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS"> I'm not entirely sure why everyone is complaining. I love the changes to Berzerker. I'm really not finding things very hard either... it just requires a bit more thought now. With a 50 Templar and 50 Warlock we went and paid a visit to the raptors (55^^^). Took one on and destroyed it. We decided to fight another one and half way through the fight we had an add. No worries, beat the both of them at once. <P> Thats TWO 55^^^ at the same time with a group of three. I really can't see why people are complaining. Put a little thought into what you're doing, take the time to LEARN your new abilities and you should be fine. <P> I also ventured into Lockjaw's cavern (or whatever its called) and tanked against 2 groups of 56^^^ at the same time. No problems there either. (Unflinching will AD3, Wall of wrath, Anarchy, Controlled Rage) <P> Oh, and for the benefit of the "losing aggro too easy" thread, I didn't lose aggro once. In fact, I've rarely lost aggro since the changes. (Bully AD3, Offending Defence MA2, Violent promise AD3) Everybody wanted Berzerkers to be on par with Guardians.. well guess what? Thats where we are at now, so enjoy it!! <P> And regarding the berserk animation buff bug... please, use your head, turn Infuriate off while it gets fixed. <P> </font>

<P>Yeah the complaining confuses me. In good eq and defensive stance I can wipe the floor with yellow^^^ with 3 ppl. Hell, the other night I went with an assassin and necro and no healer and we never wiped. We have great MT potential and with the proper buffs on 45%avoidance with 2200 mitigation just rocks. </P> <P>I am lvl 46 and I can pull aggro from a 51 guardian as well. I thought that was pretty funny the other night heh. The initial burst damage we get mixed with all upgraded taunts = mmmmmmmmmm.</P>

The people saying we suck are the people who don't understand how to synergize all our skills. At level 50 I was tanking level 59 mobs in a trio group, given my gear is better than most, but tanking and surviving in this patch vs +9 level mobs and doing 250+ dps isn't nerfed in the least. In fact I think I'd be hard pressed to pull off such a feat in a trio group before the patch. So do me a favor, before you talk about how bad the class is underpowered, ask some other beserkers on the forums how to better play your class OR wait till you get to level 50 and can really start appreciating the way our skills synergize. </DIV>
