I am a level 38 Zerker, and after pushing my way from 20 to 38 solely doing Harclaves, I think I had it pretty well down. Before I always did Difficult Harclaves and did not have any problems. I could take on 1 to 2 groups without having to worry. A solo mob (on they way to the ark) would only get me to about 50%. Now I am looking at 25% or less. Before, the hp regen from the Gnoll Ark was almost 300 (if not more...) and now I am getting 79 hps a tick. I even went to an easy and when a roaming group came around the corner and added to the group I was fighting I was done for. You used to be able to run back into the ark room and the mobs would drop when you jumped on the ark. That is not the case any more. You can not even see the boxes (on the ground or the box stairs you build) until you are standing over them.

This is not a meant to be a rant. What I am looking for is has other 'zerkers had the same experiences? Is there something I am doing wrong after the patch? I really want to enjoy my Zerker. I had a blast with him before and I know that level 50 is great. Unfortunately I am not sure I will be able to make it to 50 without going crazy if all my gaming sessions are the same as my past 2. I would appreciate any help/advice.

Darmanian

Level 38 Zerker

Antonia Bayle Server

After the changes, I went to Harclave to test the new arts and stances. I thought I had Harclave down pretty well, too, so thought it was a safe bet. My first run-through, I was severely challenged, too. One reason for this was I was in defensive stance the whole time. The second run-through, I went offensive stance and was back to flowing through the mobs. I played it a little safer than normal: one grp at a time and used those arrows wisely. Play around with your stances and arts, and you should find that while it may take you a little longer (I noticed the ark healing for less, as well), you can still finish it relatively easily.

Tuckabary

38 Berserker -- Kithicor

/bug the harclave buff in-game. The healing tick is broken and the damage proc no longer exists. All other Harclave buffs remain the same for the other three archetypes and all of the fighter classes are being affected by this.

I really dont know what i'm doing wrong getting to the ark is maybe little bit more difficult but nothing major, but as soon as i buff up the yellow mob that spawns owns me 3 times i've tried beat first mob once had 10% health left other 2 times got wiped out by them, it does seem to be a problem with my regen once buffed it barely regenerates at all

Patch notes today say they are fixing harclaves for fighters. Apparently the buff was not being "correctly" applied to fighter classes. Indya 46 Berserker Rat

Tried it last night, got killed 3 mobs in. I think I'm decently geared for a 35 zerker, combination of orc marauder gear and crafted. PGT and nathsar round shield was the combo I took in with me. The third pull was an even con Pariah and I was trying to stun every time I saw him casting. With taunts resistable and the amounts of parry spam I get from even cons these days, he walked all over me and was landing his reactive heals about 25% of the time. More than enough to outlast me.

I was in offensive stance and most of my CAs are at Adept1. I took taunts for my master 2's after hearing about all of the aggro problems tanks have been having.

If anyone has other suggestions, I'm open to them. My other options for weapons are the SBH for 2h, or the PGT and a feysteel khukri for dual wield. I was really hoping to be able to do Harclaves as I'm starting to fall behind my normal group, the other tank being level 42 and everyone else being between 37 and 40 - I think I'd have serious aggro problems if he were to go down and I needed to finish tanking anything being 2-5 levels below everyone else in the group.

Message Edited by crunchybob on 09-19-2005 10:55 AM

Well its a difficult run but doable at 46. My main concern is that fighters get a nerfed hp regen/tick. I am getting 104hp now and my 35 assassin gets over 500. He also tanks better and can stay over 50% taking 2 groups at once easy (sometiems never leaves green). If my zerk gets an add I have to book it.

The things that made harc more difficult is us losing our ubber haste (tides of war pre patch) mixed with the harc hp buff and haste.

Currently my sprint and all speed buffs are bugged on my toon. Typically I have no issues running from adds but in the last 4days I've died constantly in harc. grrrrr its frustrating.

I recommend for soloing using a combo of offensive vs. defensive. If I am soloing difficult monsters I usually use a two hander and defensive stance. Although if your one hander is a better weapon than your two hander, try using one hand and shield with Offensive stance. This gives you a nice balance. If you have the Shiny Brass Halbard I would use that, that weapon kicks . Make sure for every fight you are keeping up your Offending Defence line (the spell line that procs a counter attack when you are hit in melee and roots you to the ground), and your Weapon Shield line (the buff that procs 3 counter attacks, can be recast every 30 seconds). These two buffs do mad damage and should not be overlooked. Also make sure you are keeping up all the concentration spells you can as well as Blood Flow (the spell that procs a heal over time on you when hit in melee) every 15 mins. I don't recommend using your master spells on taunts. I only had difficulty taunting when I was a level or two from getting a taunt upgrade. If one person is consistantly pulling aggro off you, consider that aggro management is not your job alone . If you find yourself soloing quite a bit then you should consider taking upgrades to your spells that do damage instead. Good Luck, hope this helps. Indya 47 Berserker Rat

But yea, overall, I have always left my taunts at Adept 1.

I have exactely the problem that you have described before. With my medicore gear (all handmade and a Hier Crook) I get torn apart by the mobs in Harclave. The buff heals me for exactely 96 points wheras my Warden of the sem level (44) gets above 400. I can barely get through but the first add kills me within seconds. This is after the patch that claims to have corrected the Harclave buff for fighters.
