<DIV>Today's notes:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>- New spells are no longer automatically granted from levels 51 to 60. Players will need to find ways of obtaining them. <BR></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now we spend hours and many plat upgrading, now we have to obtain them too.  Another change no one asked for or wanted.  This is not EQ1 and I do not know why they are trying to make it that.  </DIV>

All I hear is everybody complaining about the new revamp and changes. imo i think its good theyre making the game harder, theyre making raiding harder, grouping harder, everything is getting tougher, more challenge means more fun. Do you want them to make the game easier? increase the amount of xp we get per kill, give us more mitigation etc etc. If they were to do that this game would be just as easy and just as boring as WOW. <div></div>

<P>No, but this change will be to help the bot farmers more then anyone else wouldn't it?  If this change means that you only need to buy the app2, or get an app4 crafted, no big deal.    Not asking to make the game easyer, but the game existed for a nearly a year under the rules that you gain spells as you level not have to find them.  For me, this change, days before this goes live is just odd and pointless.  </P> <P>And I haven't been complaining about the changes, just this one.  I am one of the ones who have spent hours testing berserkers after combat changes and doing bug reports so things get fixed before this goes live.  I've been in favor of the combat changes.  This change as 0 to do with the combat update.  </P> <p>Message Edited by Khalad on <span class=date_text>09-08-2005</span> <span class=time_text>06:53 PM</span>

<DIV>Thinking out loud (I know, not a smart idea).</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Maybe since they are increasing the drop rate of Rare harvests SOE figured not a lot of players would buy App4 skills / spells.  If you do not automaticly get the skill people will buy the Apprentice versions as soon as possible and upgradede to an Adept when they become available.</DIV>

Don't tell me it means I will need to do a long (and possibly boring) quest to get every single spell of my class once I reach a level? O_O</DIV>

<DIV>So... In effect, it means you are no longer granted the Apprentice I version of a spell automatically when you level. You either have to gain faction with a house to get the Apprentice II, or buy an Apprentice IV or Adept III version from a scholar who has the book, or get the Adept I, or Master I book drop from a mob...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, why complain? Who in their right mind plays with an App I version of any spell? It won't make much real difference outside of the first days after release, as everyone goes for the App IV/Adept/Master versions as soon as they can.</DIV>

I am guessing that you will not be able to simply buy an upgraded spell to App1 until ytou have 'earned' the App1 to put in your spellbook in the first place. Actually if you have to quest your new spells I think that is a great idea, because it adds depth to the process of gaining knowledge (spells, CA's) instead of simply being able to power level a char up and automatically gain spells. As long as you are automatically notified of having to start your spell-gaining quest for each level (e.g. like Hallmark quests do), and the quests themselves are well-balanced and soloable then I would really like this change.   Of course the spells have to be automatically granted upon quest completion and not as drops, otherwise botters would spoil things for the rest of us. <div></div>

i personally think this change is great, but them i'm a crafter. who uses app 1 anyway? and we're all fighters, who doesn't know an alchemist in thier guild or as a friend? this is a nice benefit to sages i think, and as a bonus, jewelers and alchemists get more work. besides all this is going to do is increase orders, i.e. person goes out to exp, but then they go find an alchemist makes all thier lvl 51/52 fighter spells and lives in desert of ro for 2 lvls and mem's those spells when they lvl, then when they gotta go back to town to drop stuff off or resupply, go find another alchy. <div></div>

"All I hear is everybody complaining about the new revamp and changes. imo i think its good theyre making the game harder, theyre making raiding harder, grouping harder, everything is getting tougher, more challenge means more fun." Making the game harder does not necessarilly make it more fun IMO.  Making a game harder oftentimes makes it more annoying I have learned. <div></div>
