Concerned about our value to a group when not tanking

Prior to the game coming out, we were told the fighter classes would do the most melee damage. Somewhere from the beta to live a reversal happened which was never relayed to the community before we started playing the game live. I would not have a problem with the change IF that infomation was relayed before I invested hundred of hours of playing time. I would have picked a class that suited my playing style. Berserkers are now (after changes) dps buffers.  Yes no more haste, but we have a group berserk buff for roughly 20% haste and dps.  We have group str buffs ranging from 60-100 in value and a new buff that raises the groups dps.

The only time that we wouldn't tank would be if there was a guardian in the group (assuming of course they're still the best tanks).</P> <P>Some people are saying that it would be more wise to have the guardian buff up a berserker and have the berserker tank after the changes, but we'll see.</P> <P> </P>

Man, these combat changes are flipping my whole view on things.. I'm so used to sitting in the MT group and buffing for 1k+ HP and then having my uber haste and some sort of 2h (fabled axe, rgf, etc.) and doing some admirable DPS.. maybe I will be the MT now? who knows..

<P>Ive stopped grouping for the most part and i havent done no raid material for about a week now. Dont think its worth it to be honest unless your in a full time raiding guild and can farm the crap out of it all on a daily basis till Sept 14th.</P> <P>So im just clocking up on quests instead of wasting my time grouping, cause its all going to change anyway.</P>

well.. I AM in a hardcore raiding guild and we DO farm the crap out of those instances and then do quests and other boring crap (like the prismatic runes.. ugh) so I'm really worried about my whole position changing.
