View Full Version : Masters/ Adept III's and the new Combat Changes

<DIV>I'm just curious. I have quite a few Masters and Adpet III's that I've worked hard for and invested a lot of plat in. Many of my damage spells and haste buffs were upgraded to provide the maximum dps, but many of these are being changed to more of a defensive type buff and the damage/ beserk/ stuns have been decreased or removed from the damage spells.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What I'm getting at is that, had these CA's been the ones that I grew up with, I would have upgraded differently. Does anyone know if SOE has considered this or addressed it.</DIV>

<P><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=4>It has been addressed to some exent in that ALL the arts that you have now that are adpt 3/master1 will be the same when they change to the new name/art. NO they are not going to let you change new arts for ones you wouldve rather had.  I know that I upgraded Focus Rage to Adpt 3 and it seems that it is the ONLY art that will be of any use to incur a zerk state that grants hatste. I may be wrong but that is what I have read. Also I have went a spending spree on my server and bought ALL the arts from 31 to 50 at adpt 1 being that since they no longer scale and will be of instant highest value and more so based on upgrade quality I wanted to get in on all the adpts I could get before the price really went thru the roof. </FONT></P> <P><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=4>Think of it. App1 Stomp does say 80-100 app4 does 90-120 and adp1 does 100-140, this is an example and NOT real values but you can see that going from app4 to adpt1 wouild make a huge diff!!</FONT></P> <P><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=4></FONT> </P> <P><FONT face="Comic Sans MS" size=4>Cacophonix</FONT></P>

The only arts that radically change are Tides (changes from haste to a str buff), War chant (from a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]ty str buff to a great grp berserk buff) ,  Unbridled fury (was counterattack now offensive stance),  Weapon guard (now the counter attack) and anarchy looses its proc and gains more mit.  The rest do what they used to pretty much.

<P>Yeah I suppose I can't be too P.O.ed, but I know I'll have several worthless upgrades that, had I got them post update, I would have chosen to upgrade one of our vital buffs. On the other hand, this is happening to everyone across the board. It just means I have to build up my toon some more. Thanks for the info guys. At least I have Adept's for everything else. I have a feeling they are going to be expensive</P> <P> </P>

<P>With a quick scan I see Raging blows for sure. I don't use a shield, but it looks like this has become a shield CA. That's one down the drain. </P> <P>I'm still looking over the screenshots to see if I am getting nerfed or not. I'm still not swayed either way. There are some really nice buffs in this change (i.e. I have a Master for Tides of War which will rock).</P> <P>I also really like the instant cast and quicker rescast timers, as well as the buffs being toggle on/off rather than 10 minute buffs.</P> <P>At the same time, losing all of my haste spells disappoints me, unless the zerks from war chant stack. I have all of my haste spells upgraded and use Monsoon and the FBSS. With a couple zerks going from Focus Rage, Bloodlust, ect, I can throw my Rage Master and Infuriate in there and look like a true Zerker all freaking out and going crazy with attack speed. It'll be interesting to see if the strength buff makes up for the loss in Haste.</P> <P>All that aside, I want to thank you for posting so much info on the changes, it's been really helpful. Out of curiousity, I notice that there are a number of CA's that I have now that aren't shown in the screenshots. Are these ones remaining the unchanged, or are we losing them? </P>

<P>The berserks you get have never stacked, even though you get more then one icon.  Same rules apply after combat changes.</P> <P>The berserk we get from warchant is alot less haste, 21%.  But it is also a 21% DPS buff that is real nice.  </P>

Our role will definitely be as a group tank I think, but I don't know so much about our role in raids now... although I would think we'd fit in really well with the scouts... seems to me that with the STR Buff and group zerk, we'd be like crack for a group of scouts.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>As far as tanking goes, I think we would be the best pick for a group tank, but the raid tanking should still be up to the guards.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thansk for the info K.</DIV>
