View Full Version : Berserker DPS numbers after combat changes

Did some full group fighting with some guildies today. The grp was: berserker, wizard, swashbuckler, warden and 2 templars. At first I was not happy as the swashy was taking agro off me alot. Swashs always took alot of agro due to their combat arts giving some hate but after CU they are not like that. Then we firgured out that he didnt have his 1 conc buff up that proced a hate reducer. After he casted that, it was much better, and occasionally when he did take agro, i got it right back.

Now for the DPS. I have a good amount of masters and pretty good gear. The Wizard is decked out totally in great gear and has most of his masters. The Swash is below me in gear and spells, but still has some pretty good upgrades. The DPS order was almost always Wizard, Swash, Berserker. On some fights where alot of AE could be used, I would pass the Swash in dps.

In these fights I was using offensive stance, war chant and tides unless otherwise noted. Prismatic 2 hander was used unless otherwise noted.

I was tanking, so I would have to deal with all of the mobs blocking and parrying, which were alot. I need to test it, but I can think we will do alot more dps while not tanking due to the block and parry rate of mobs.

Fight 1: Encounter of 3 mobs, yellow con

Wiz: 241

Swash: 187

Zerk: 139

Fight 2: Single triple up, yellow con

Wizard: 347

Swash: 209

Zerk: 201

Fight 3: Single Triple up orange named ( half of fight defensive stance and shield/screaming mace was used)

Wizard: 114

Zerk: 57

Swash: 50

Fight 4: Single Triple up yellow named

Wizard: 142

Swash: 131

Zerk: 111

Fight 5: Encounter of 3, yellow con,

Wizard: 328

Zerk: 211

Swash 190

I really want to see berserker dps numbers when not tanking, I think they'll be higher, just gotta find someone else to tank for me. I think the numbers above are pretty decent for someone who is tanking and taunting for the group. I had 3 healers in the grp, but there wernt working very hardwith heals and were almost always full power, so I was tanking very well, even in offensive stance. The only time the healers really had to work was with the orange, he was a pretty tough mob. He also took alot less damage due to his level and being named.

Message Edited by Khalad on 08-13-2005 03:38 PM

Thank you for these numbers. Maybe... there.... is.... hope. Guess I'll have to just wait and see for myself.

Just for clarity's sake, was everyone still 50?

And how well does the offensive stance perform? I just looted the Master of that tonight. Does it hit targets outside of the encounter, or have you tried that yet?

najena.konk

Those are some nice numbers. It doesn't look like we got much of a "nerf". Though we'll have to see how well those of us with not so much fabled gear do.

I look forward to the non-tanking numbers, thanks for keeping us all informed!

I was one level higher then the others when those numbers were taken. The mobs were yellow to everyone though, so they should be fairly close. Unbridled fury hits all mobs in AE, out of encounter. It does not seem to be procing as much as it should (20%). I bug reported it.
Message Edited by Khalad on 08-14-2005 04:09 PM

Azril wrote:Thnak for the info, anyone know how much of a factor str will play into dps?

I don't have my notes on me right now so forgive the lack of exact damage numbers. Tides of war was adding close to 10% damage potential to all of my combat arts just by inspecting them before/after applying tides of war. Testing some numbers with a bard in his early/mid forties and using his strength buff added 16% damage potential to all of my combat arts. Again just form examining the combat art before and after the buff. Strength is a pretty big factor I would say and since most stats have dipped a little (live vs beta) it makes smaller gains in the future more rewarding. Likewise debuffs to agility/wisdom/mitigation/strength/int are very noticable. Mages and priests doing well here, I don't know which rogues offer what yet though.
