Is this skill worthwhile to upgrade? <div></div>

yes it is, I didn't use it all that much in the low 20s but as I progressed into the late 20s early 30s I would notice alot of effectiveness. Best time to use it would be when dealing with groups of multiple mobs, heroic or otherwise. <div></div>

Definately.  Upgrade it then go use it solo on the groups of gnolls between T1 and T3 in TS.  Sweet xp.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

<P>Yes. Upgrade. It's sweet against groups. I love killing the first mob and then finding that the others are already in the orange. </P> <P>Now, correct me if I'm wrong. I've been using the POS Shiny Brass Halberd, but it seems like this spell would absolutely rule if you were dual-wielding. Anyone know if the effect has the same chance to go off regardless of weapon speed? Or is it like the Gleaming Strike proc on imbued weapons where it's based weapon delay to even out the # of procs over time? If it speed is a non-issue, take a couple of (1.2 seconds) imbued feysteel short swords and your DPS should go batty. No?</P>

At 40, i dont use it that much, it drops health quite a bit. BUt for groups with a healer i used it more and it def adds to ur dps for sure...u go kinda nutso on it. With soloing, i used it sparingly. But i would upgrade to app4.

<div></div>I did a field test with a 2.5 speed axe, and then two 1.2 speed dual wielders, it didn't seem to affect the proc rate.  And thank you for all the replies! <div></div><p>Message Edited by Rorasis on <span class=date_text>06-29-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:58 PM</span>

I've heard and read that the proc rate is the same for all weapons.  if you dual weild you would get the same # of procs with only one of yer weapons as opposed to using both. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edit - oh lol, Blood Rage rocks the hizzy so bad...upgrade it to adept 3 asap.  Especially if you have a healer.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Taiko1 on <span class=date_text>06-29-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:32 PM</span>

<P>this skill turned me off first time i used it, losing 20% health hurt, forgot completely about it from level 21 to level 49</P> <P>But on raids..</P> <P>WHOA MAN!</P> <P>you're not trying to hold agro, guards do that, you're trying to DPS the [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] out of the mobs, this has got to be a defining zerker skill.  Who cares if you take a little punishment, it's just blood, there's always a healer or 4 to fix you up, but the AE's you get for over half a minute really make up for it.</P> <P>Will sell my first and second born sons to get a master version of this spell...</P>

Well, kinda off topic, but here is my brief guide on proc as I understand it. I believe the formula is: ChanceToProc = (Weapon Delay/3.0)*ProcRate eg: With a 1.5 delay weapon with 5% chance to proc you will only proc 2.5 out of 100 successful attacks (or 5 out of 200), 200 hits w/o haste would take 200x1.5s = 300s, so 5 procs in 300s is 5p/300s = 1/60p/s(proc per second) * 60s/m = 1 proc per minute. Likewise with a 3.0 delay weapon with 5% chance to proc you will proc 5 out of 100 attacks (which is 100x3.0s=300s), so again 5p/300s=1 proc per minute. But that isn't all, there is an advantage to each depending on the nature of the proc. Consider skills, skills proc based on the primary weapons delay, so having a longer delay weapon results in more chance to proc with skills, this makes slower weapons slightly better since they have this advantage on skills. But dual wield allows two chances to proc, one on each weapon however since most dual wield are quite fast this is a fair (and sometimes strageically better) advantage to the high proc rate on skills with slower 2h'rs. (another disadvantage of DW is riposte rate, but that is another subject) But there are even variations in this.  You wouldn't be considered niave to think each weapon only procs when *that* weapon hits, but in fact some weapons (such as PGT and Wyrmsteel) actually proc when ANY weapon hits, meaning even if your secondary or ranged weapon doesn't proc, it can proc this weapons effect.  Imbued items do not do this however, so equiping two of them will only give you the normal chance when *that* weapon strikes as one would naturally think. Finally there are skill procs, which work much like the first type of DW procing I mentioned, many can occur on any attack giving another nod toward DW. I personally have not done estensive testing, but I usually solo, so I go with 2h to increase proc rate on skills while avoiding excessive riposte, if you are a dps in group DW would probably be better for you (as long as you stand behind the enemy to avoid riposte). Wyrmsteel is the only case I have encounter that DW (Wyrmsteel Shortblades) absolutely trumps 2H (Wyrmsteel Battleaxe) as it is 100% proc rate, meaning every melee round each weapon will proc each weapons proc, so using DW each round you get up to 4 procs per 1.2s, with a 2H you get 1 proc every 2.5s and the procs are the same damage.  Just so you aren't overly awed by wyrmsteel you should know it only affects very specific drakota (about 5 or 6 total in the game, anything else will resist the effect for much battle spam) and is not a very potent proc(19-23 damage), combined with the weapons being only level 40 treasured these weapons are not as great as they sound, but still pretty nifty toys. <div></div>

<DIV> </DIV> <DIV> Just be careful with it, it will drop your health about 15-20% when you activate it, so hit it first, then attack so you can reclaim a little health back. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> BUT... remember this is going to break mez when it procs, so don't touch it when you are fighting with a mezzer or he/she will pummel you about the head and shoulders. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by einar438 on <span class=date_text>07-06-2005</span> <span class=time_text>09:32 AM</span>

Without a doubt one of our best spells ever.  I upgraded this to adept 3 and was thrilled to find out that the percentage and dmg of this spell scalled up!  If I ever find this at a Master1 or higher I'll buy it, without a second thought. Mumnoch 50 berserker Butcherblock <div></div>

I need to find an alchemist to make this. I stopped playing my scholar a while ago so I can't remember -- do the recipes for spell upgrades aliugn with the spell's level (i.e., do I just have to find a 21 alchemist for a level 21 skill)? Thanks <div></div>
