nuff said....im not really sure wut it is...seems like it is our hit bouncing back to hiy us in some way. but i may be wrong. wut is it?

thnx

pnaxx

A reposte is a block or a parry which segue's into a counter attack. So basically, it is a parry with a counter attack against the agressor.
Message Edited by Ansiri on 06-13-2005 05:22 PM

It's an automatic attack against all hits coming from the front of the mob. This is why it's good to position yourself behind everything unless you are tanking.

In the game, it seems to be some kind of Critical Parry, i.e. if the mob Parries and the random number is low enough (or high enough if it's checking high) then the Parry becomes a Riposte. It's a block+free return attack. That's why many advise attacking a mob from the rear unless you're MT. Parries (and blocks) only happen within a 120 degree arc in front of the mob, so if you're behind it you'll hit more and, sometimes more importantly, you won't get riposted because you won't be parried.

riposte being the #1 argument favoring 2h vs dual heh

I'm taking orange^^ now at lvl 28 with duals. I have a solid group of ratongas: Zerker/Inquis/Warlock and I have no problems whatsoever taking those badboys down. I personally prefer to not use a shield just because my little rat (picked the smallest size) is just billy bada$$ when he is toting his new Shiny Brass Halberd now. :robotvery-happy:

well I should say we've taken oranges down but we stick mostly to high yellows. I will admit to running away from a few specific orange fights hehe.
