View Full Version : Did I pick the right traits?
<DIV>I picked Taron's Bleeding Blades at lvl 10 and Strongbear's Deep Wound at lvl 20. I like the idea of damage over time, and I actually tested this a bit last night - was pulling Giant Kodiaks for AQ2 with my GF's nuker. I would run out, hit it with Bleeding Blades, and start running it back, then stop and hit it with Deep Wound - by the time I got back to our camp spot, the bear would be anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 down. Seems to work pretty nicely, but will it decrease in usefullness quickly over the next few levels? Not sure I can respec on this guy or not if I made the wrong decision.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>On a completely different note, when I dinged 20 I bought 3 imbued 2handers - one of each type, and have found the damge to be very impressive.</DIV> <DIV><BR> </DIV>

<DIV>If you solo a lot, like I do, strongbears is a very good choice. At lvl 30 I still use it over the upgrade to our first dot. I usualy pull with my bow, hit strongbears, then get into it. I can focus on my defense, or pile on HO's, and then hit it again when it refereshes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It is a very handy skill.</DIV>

I took Strong Bears too...but regret it. Would rather have had the Taunting Blow update becuase you can use that for a very long time. I solo alot...but i also group alot too....EQ will get very old just soloing and you will be required to hold agro as MT. That beeing said....without the Taunting Blow upgrade...i hold agro no prob....but StrongBears has been replaced with another one already adn now it just collects dust on the shelf. If i get the chance i will respc that to the Taunting upgrade.

<DIV>10 Taron's Bleeding Blades</DIV> <DIV>20 Brugal's Boastful Blow</DIV> <DIV>30 Uthros' Superior Tactics</DIV> <DIV>40 Darkmoore's Protective Advance</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I picked these. I don't think the lvl 10 one matters much. I like Taron's for when I am mentoring down really low. I still use Brugal's Boastful Blow at 50 since it never gets replaced. Uthros's Superior Tactics is by far the most important Tier 3 unless buff stacking is nerfed but the other choices won't effect you end game. At 40 Everyone seems to like Darkmoore's best. It saves me from having to upgrade weapon guard and I like the added mitagation.</DIV>

<DIV>I would have gone with Uthros' Defiant Cry for your level 10, as it's the only one that you'll still use at level 50. The increase to slashing/piercing/crushing is overwritten by later skills, but you can still use it for the +4 to Spell Avoidance. That's a skill that, like Defense, increases by 5 each level, so Uthros' raises your Spell Avoidance by almost a whole level. That said, I wouldn't worry too much if you didn't pick it. It's hard to say how much of a difference the +4 Spell Avoidance makes, but like I said, it's still more of a benefit than the other options (none of which you'll be using after awhile). </DIV>
