View Full Version : Err, does anyone else get annoyed at how your character looks when he goes "berserk?"

Ugh, I was hoping when I went berserk it would actually...look neat/cool, but it looked like the excat opposite. The same old tired animation of your character holding their weapon up in the air and a "glow" effect like they do for sooo many other skills. It makes me feel like i'm in the standing oviation for the olympic games or something. Why the heck didn't they actually make your guy look like he was going berserk? Maybe have the character hunch over a bit, look like he's swinging faster/harder, have a crazed look on his face, something that doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. I've had people ask me why in combat my guy kept raising his weapon so much and glowing...man it's a pain to see, makes combat seem weird when it happens to me, espically when it happens quickly multiple times, I feel like i'm playing saturday night fever or something. I just wish they'd change the animation/fix it up a bit so when it happens it looks like something you might expect to see, though I doubt that'd happen.

At the present moment, id be more worried about whats going to happen to the core of your character come LU#7 then a eye candy effect.

I know of the "nerf's/omg why blah blahs" etc, I wasn't aware that people can't talk about other things besides how "my class nerfed the worst, etc" that's all I see in almost every single class forum. I play a berserker regardless of the nerf's they dish out, yes I hope they fix some things and change some, but it isn't my problem I don't want to whine about that when there's already plenty of threads about the problems.

If you're referring to the combat changes that are on test, well, inform yourself a little better before crying. The combat changes will NOT be part of LU7 and may not be part of LU8. They are being tested for balancing and will continue to be so for the forseeable future.

Its amazing when people mention a LU and there instantly crying. The whine about the way Berserk looks has been around since the first month of live release, so lets see, thats 5 almost 6 months but i think people gave up on it about 3 months into the game, if it hasnt changed now, it isnt going to change, no matter how much crying or whining you do about it.

My point was that there are far far more serious things for the Devs and US to worry about then the look of Berserk, and no im not refering too those Combat Arts, and yes im refering to Combat changes because there going to affect everybody. Its a major core change to the game itself, proving that we are still indeed playing a Beta version where major Core changes should be kept in beta. If you read some threads around here you will find a player named Savvy or something by the sounds that has acually posted some of the effects of the core changes, and there not looking pretty.

Let me finish off with this, im glad you trust what Moorgard says, cause if you follow his posts he has become a somewhat very untrustful Community Rep. OF course Frogloks are in game, then they release a bomb shell and say there not, even after we were told they are.........hmmm yeah ok, ill trust what SoE says, but i wont be holding my breath thats for sure.

Oh I trust the Development team as much as you - You'll find a post of mine in the Froglok thread. This isn't my first SoE game and I know all about how they operate. Is it possible that the combat changes could appear in LU7? Sure. But at this point in time, less than a week in on test, its just as possible that they will make drastic changes and leave it on until LU8 or later. From the patch notes on test, the mitigation/avoidance portion is in on test now. However, the patch notes also state that they did this first to see how they would need to adjust healing and DPS and no changes(other than your standard fixes/issues) have gone toward healing/DPS.

Do I think the changes are good? Not if they go to Live with zero change to the current healing and DPS system. It'll be disasterous. I think it needs more time on test and lets just see what happens. Also, please don't take the tone of my previous post as a direct slight at you. I had been reading through the Zerk forum s a while before posting that, and as you said, there's many opinions stated to boil the blood.
