<DIV>The whole point is like Cheroyby pointed out, this game has more bugs then EQ1 did when it was first released because of the sheer complexitiy of the game,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>.......................</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>now, i tend to agree with points from both side of this argument, but this staement really made me pause...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I started EQ1 about 1 week into retail on Rallos Zek, and the game had WAY more bugs than eq2. bugged spells/terrain/npc's </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>being charmed and loosing all my gear, falling off the boat, every time , falling thru the world on a constant basis, being telleported into a small box with /loc's on the wall , gear that would dissapear, char's that would dissapear from the login screen , pathing bugs , broken spells , horrendous lag early on in the game , exploitable bugged pvp for many months , broken boats, bards, always broken.. just to name a few.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>many of these issues were not fixed till long after release...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>as far as class skills a lot of the higher level spells 30+ were very broken for the first 6 months-1 year of the game, ALSO the nerfing in eq2 has been very moderate compared to the nerfing that went on in eq1 ala necro.. druid.. shaman...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>and few of the classes are as usless/broken as some of the classes were in eq1 .. Warriors for the first year they were crap.. crap crap.. rangers.. uggg dont get me started .. necro group utility *laugh* shamna and druid as healers? lol.. sk's ...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>on a positive note, many if not all of these things were improved revamped/fixed. it just takes time, and eq2 is what six months old? give it a chance</DIV>

<P>its not about giving it a chance, its about calling a game a sequel and carrying over the same baggage of problems, with a few new ones and crazy ideas for solving it all.</P> <P>i didnt play eq1 right out of the box - thank god i didnt - i feel sorry for the person who played UO out of the first box..lol</P> <P>thats natural. What i and a few others is trying to say here is that the same OLD problems shouldnt be here, one would assume if you are gonna call a game a sequel, that you wouldve learned from the 6 year ORIGINAL!!</P> <P>Thats my beef with the situation at least. It doesnt have to be EQ1 all over again, but jezus at least have some ties as to be able to see what players wanted, when, the progression therof, if content was more important than class balance and broken spells, and on down that line.</P> <P>Standard procedure, it isnt going to change much. Studying Eq1 wouldve easily allowed the devs to see that YOU DONT NERF SOMETHING BEFORE EVERYTHING IS FIXED!!!!!</P> <P>That concept still hasnt changed, same S-hi-t* different day. When alot of these things will not and wont ever change, and if the beta process' need to be expanded a few weeks longer to catch some things - so be it - you lose more customers in a short time because of nerfs and overhauls than anything. </P>

Once again people comparing games, comparing games is like expecting a old model car to run like the new model, but seeing as what they learnt when they designed the new model, they improved the quailty from what they knew and learnt from the old model, same applys here, except like Sage pointed out, after 6 years of having the best MMORPG on the market, one would think that they would have balance issues down pat and bugs and broken combat arts, abilities and spells under control seeing as this game doesnt rely on PvP what so ever, its strictly PvE, its even easier to fix and balance class's / archtypes. Seeing as this game is PvE, having combat arts, abilities and spells working would be the first aim to balance the archtype system more precisely. Also EQ1 was the first of its kind, so there was bound to be bugs, but 6 almost 7 years later with technology the way it is today compared to 7 years ago, one would expect a bit more of a somewhat cleaner system. Combat Arts, Abilities and Spells are the soul to characters, when they dont work correctly, the game isnt fun. Yes it has been 6 months since anything has been adressed in reguards to Combat Arts, Abilities and Spells, and the only class that would have a pretty balanced Spell system atm would have to be Wizards / Warlocks cause there whole spell system got revamped, so anything that could or was broken, got fixed during the revamp.</P> <P>Again i will ask people to kindly stop comparing games with games, this is EQ2, its got to stand on its own two feet with out being compared to anything else, but what it does lack is depth, giving this day and age, and SoE background with EQ1, im sure they can do a better job at creating that deep feeling once again. A number of people have already pointed that out Huyenmiakim.</P> <P>Taemek Frozenberg 45th Berserker<BR>16th Outfitter<BR>Everfrost Server<BR><BR>Enlightened Aonein Amillion ( retired )<BR>70th Stone Fist of The Celestial Fist<BR>Five Rings on Luclin Server</P>

<DIV>lol i havent heard that for awhile now. Also by your reasoning Huyenmiakim, we should just sit back for the next 6 years and wait for them to iron out bugs, broken combat arts, abilities, spells and fix class balance? Thats not a real good idea in todays age seeing as the wide range of choice in the gaming industry today, if a company didnt act quick on a problem that was killing the fun, then there bound to start losing customers. SoE would know this im sure, but seeing that last 6 months all they have mainly worried about is introducing new content, while i have no problem with this, and i think it gives people many places to visit, the overall climb from level to level is a quick one, again this is another area there is no depth, we level to fast, not getting enough time to spend in these areas or get the full benefit of armor and spells for the price they cost. If you were to ask me today what spells and armor to upgrade too, id say straight out, dont upgrade any armor till you geto lvl 40, and dont start upgrading spells till you geto lvl 35, because you can reach these levels at a very fast speed. Quests dont eat up vitailty anymore, so you can basically do quests getting very large amounts of XP, they have increased the amount of XP gained by small groups and solo encounters 2 times now, now when you mix these increased XP encounters with quests, you can bascially always have vitailty. While no one is doing anything bad by playing like this, the problem is people level to fast, the overall experience grind is way too quick. Sure you can turn off XP and watch all your friends leave you for dead.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Taemek Frozenberg 45th Berserker<BR>16th Outfitter<BR>Everfrost Server<BR><BR>Enlightened Aonein Amillion ( retired )<BR>70th Stone Fist of The Celestial Fist<BR>Five Rings on Luclin Server</DIV><p>Message Edited by -Aonein- on <span class=date_text>03-31-2005</span> <span class=time_text>03:17 AM</span>
