If this has already been addressed, my apologies. I plan on starting a zerker, and since i 2 box, i was wondering what the best healer would be to tag team him. I think it will either be a fury or templar. Or perhaps there is another combo i am overlooking, maybe a scout class. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, my WIfe plays a Templar and we have done lost of duoing together. We can take out Blue ^^ mobs and certain white ^^ mobs. I draw the line at Blue ^^ named mobs though. Ive pumped most of my money into Armor, she has pumped all of her money into Adept III's, and we cna duo very well. Cause we have high mitigation, Reactive heals work wonders, and Templars get pretty decent debuffs too that go along with a Berserkers.

Ive never really even grouped with a Fury much so i wouldnt be able to give you a correct answer on them, all i know is Templars can heal for 1k+ HP instantly after lvl 46. I know Furys cant do that, but i think they get high HP regen spells plus light to medium instant healing spells, not sure how they work.

Taemek Frozenberg 45th Berserker
16th Outfitter
Blood and Ice
Everfrost Server

Enlightened Aonein Amillion ( retired )
70th Stone Fist of The Celestial Fist
Five Rings on Luclin Server

if anything go warden, furys are lacking in that department right now. They are supposed to be more offensive, so they sacrifice some of the heals but until they get some fixes and balancing, its not a wise choice because they cant keep up with healing etc, at higher levels.

Wardens are nice, but in comparison to a plate tank, yeah - an inquis or templar are best. an inquis post level 35 can render a mob totally useless since thier debuffs are so powerful. they get less direct heals i believe but the reactives are right on point which is really all that matters in a duo situation.

good luck!

Well my wife and I play a 37 berserker and 34 warden and we duo pretty well together. What we can handle depends alot on the mob type, but we've done up to ylw ^^ for some mobs, although I'd have to say that blue ^^ is the highest we can reliably do. We have most trouble with caster mobs, since we don't have a stifle or any significant power drains. I find myself sometimes relying on her for DPS, since her HO is much more powerful than mine is on a single target and she can repeat it so often. The HoTs are nice in that if they keep pace with the damage being done that frees up the warden to let loose with some offensive spells.

I haven't duoed very much with clerics or shamans, but I'd guess they'd bring other abilities to the table, with clerics pulling ahead of shamans imo. The stifles and slows though would be very nice to have in some situations as a warden can't really debuff/impair a mob very much at all.

All my friends play Inquisitors (or so it seems). Makes a great duo partner with Bers.

Holy crap. Me and a warden friend of mine, he was 24 and I was 28, we were duoing the skeles outside of RoV, mostly all blue/white and occasinally yellow to me, just fine. Chaining off the divine blade HO for about 200-300 each and ending fights with enough health/power so that I could pull again and be nearly at full in just 10 or so seconds. One thing you really really want to do.... get at least some app4 skills, I suggest that with mostly your buffs and debuffs, the rest dont really do much. :[ When I duo with a templar their power just drops so much faster then my warden friends power, honestly not sure why, but it does.. I like warden buffs more then cleric buffs though.

Message Edited by Ravenant on 03-25-2005 11:32 AM

I duo with a shaman and can take orange^^ fairly easily as long as they are melee mobs. Once the debuffs land on the mobs, mobs rarely can hit me for much damage. A shaman may not have the raw healing power, but after the debuffs land there is very little need to heal. Casting mobs are another story though, those tend to hurt a bit more and usually don't go above yellow^^.

I mentor my 29 berserker with my 40 inquisitor. The duo works fabulously, and I can still take down yellow ^^ or multi mob encounters. Inquisitors seem to be built to enhance the tanks dps due to their damage shield debuffs, and the fact that their heals deal damage each time they kick off. Combine the reactive heal damage and damage shields with a berserker's strong dps, and the combination is enough to drop almost anything.

My 20 zerker works REALLY well with a templar. I can take white ^^ or Yellow ^

For fast-kill XPing, go with a wizard. True, you can't take the ^^s unless theyre green or MAYBE blue, but if you're going for easier encounters, pull the mob and then let the wizard go nuke happy. If your good with your taunts and HOs, you can keep aggro off him while he blows the livin daylights out of them. This way you can plow through LARGE amounts of mobs very quickly.

I got a friend who's a 50 fury and I'm a 45 zerker myself. The high end spells/buffs that furies get with zerkers are just sick. Using Anarchy + Bloodrage everyfight thrown in with his damage shield buffs absolutely meat tenderizes no ^ heriocs. I think if you're just going for shear duo leveling a fury + zerker are a nasty match, because a fury can actually dps on their own and help you dps more.

With duoing any healer type will be good, all have more or less good heals, buffs and debuffs. Inquisitor would be one of the best choices, good heals and stiffle. Add berserker stuns & interrupts + stiffle = very silent still mob

Go knee break.

Another good combo is enchanter (pick one) and zerker. zerker pulls, enchanter mezzes one and paralizes another, then helps the berserker take down any remaining. Plus with breeze on both, you're guaranteed an unlimited amount of mana for 10 minutes, allowing the enchanter to use all those uber, power-draining damage spells.

My best friend had a inquisitor, poorly equipped, and we could duo almost anything below red con. even a couple orange ^^ named. until about 35 anyways, then mobs got noticeably harder.

Now a suggestion for what you SHOULDN'T duo with:

Rogue or Predator.

Not that I have anything against them, its just that:

You're main tank, so the scout's hp won't matter.

True, he/she could add dps, but if you want that go get a mage.

Theoretically, scout/zerker combos do work fine, but the scouts really don't play to their full potential as off tank AND damage dealer.

Bards are fine. You'll need the buffs for higher level encounters.
