View Full Version : Question for Berserkers reguarding Avoidance.

<DIV>As a Berserker our mitigation should be higher then our avoidance. If that requires defense skills to add to mitigation instead of avoidance so be it. However, I do believe the shield should still add to avoidance.</DIV>

<P>Yes i have no problem with us recieving Avoidance in the style of Block ( Shield ) and Parry, these are the only two ways we or any Plate Class fighter should be able to avoid damage. <P>I think like this:</P> <P>Defense = Mitigation + Avoidance</P> <P>See, if you are more skilled at defending yourself, not just you will get hit less by your opponents, but you will also get hit much less harder.</P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

<P>They are going to lower our Avoidance rate, so it can only be one or the other. <P>Defense is a skill. The skills of the fighter determines how good you are based on your experiences in combat. A highly skill fighter can ecade more blows than a novice. That is what Defense, in part, represents. It's one of your skills of defending yourself from attacks by avoiding them.</P> <P>If by some chance my opponent is skilled enough to hit me, the damage is partially absorbed by what I'm wearing. If you try to slash me with a sword and I can't dodge it or parry it or block it with a shield, a plate chestpiece is going to reduce the hit I take more than if I was wearing a cloth shirt. That is mitigation.</P> <P>It's simple to argue semantics in terms of real life definitions and points of view, but in the game that is the context to which those terms are defined.</P> <P> </P>
IMO i think Shields ( Block ) should be moved over to Mitigation instead of avoidance.... For one only plate tanks can use them.... Brawlers cant The Raw figure on it is misleading ..... if they its gonna stay as avoidance then remove the big "AC" number on it and give it an avoidance value instead.... Do that and the status quo should stand but yeah for zerkers IMO Mitigation> Avoidance <div></div>
