"Must do" quests?

At your level, the only must do ones that come to mind are:- All the AQs -- see dyric pyre in EFP if you are in FP -- near best armor til about 30. - SBH (Shiny Brass Halbred)-- see Dragoon K'Naae in Nek -- best weap 28 to 35.- start the JBoots quest in Antonica, it is really most fun at lower levels when the runs are actually dangerous.You might also try to grab the lightbringer wisp quest in Commonlands and camp Berik's sword of thunder in Stormhold. Also, start looking into TS giants to grab the idols that let you learn the language for the PGT (Polished Granite Tomahawk) quest. I really regret not doing those three when I was level appropriate. 2 2hd weapons dropping in Nek that are "much better" than the SBH? I fought for many levels there and never saw them. The conventional wisdom that I have gleaned from these boards has held for a long time that SBH is the best weap 28-35. Unless these 2hd weapons you speak of were recently added to the game, I cry B.S. Not saying you are a liar, I am just extremely skeptical by nature. Please post the names and stats. I am sure the rest of the young Zerkers would like to know of them.

<DIV>Tagright is right, the SBH is the best mid lvl 2hnd weapon atm, unless maybe you got some crazy master chest drop.  The dmg might be higher on the others but did you look at the speed? <DIV>Indeed, the SBH is better than any 2h you will find until 40+, too bad it goes green before that.  There is no better drop in nek, thats for sure, even from Aegedidelas the raid ^^^X3 spider, i've seen the quality of her master chest drops several times now.  Nice stuff but the SBH is better.    The DFC access quest will yeild you Mammoth, a nice lv 43 2h sword, with good dps for its level, but with less stat bonus than the SBH gives.  Next 2h of that caliber is hiero crook or EBBC.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Unless I am mistaken, the 2hd that drops from the fairy queen is the Harpoon of Darkness. I do not know the full maximum damage. Allakhzam's suggests that it is 31-92 at level 27, which would put it in more or less line with the SBH, BUT it has a 3 second delay. As Deed said, and as a DW fan like you must appreciate, delay is as important as maximum damage when evaluating a weapon. I am not trying to nitpick or prove you wrong, I am just a big fan of the SBH. I personally think that anyone not using one is doing themselves and the groupmates a disservice. Having done fairly extensive parsing, I can tell you I never found a DW combo that came close to the amount of damage that the SBH put out and, yes, I parsed.

Sure the damage is higher but when you add in the delay SBH is the best weapon, even better than your DW I'm sure, damage doesn't matter, you have to calc delay as well. I have slime coated mace and PGT DW now and in dps tracking (at lvl35 or so) SBH still is close even with with 2 procs on the DW, SBH is a killer weapon. It actualy beats SCM and PGT on solo mobs, but the longer the fight the better DW does with these specific weapons I have found.

Dont forget that has a +9 stamina, +9 str, +6 agi (um forget those) and great power and health , both +40, 2.3 delay, plus it just looks awesome. If you finish the Greehood quest and get access to Zek Citadel, you get a really awesome axe called Mammoth. Ever since i got that i put away my SBH. Besides low delay high damage weapons are really great when you get ToW at 37. There are also some good quested weapons in Zek for dual wield, and a good one haded spear as well.

The SBH is indeed a good weapon, but I think Mammoth is better for pure damage.  Its ratio is better and you don't lose all that much in stats.  While this was just in a group for a few hours, I parsing an average of 90ish DPS with the SBH and was usually over 100 with Mammoth, at level 35.  So I sold the SBH when I got back to Freeport and now I'm wondering what I'm supposed to do with 20 gold (most I've ever had at one time was like 11 gold, and now I have like 28, and a Rough Opal that I got off a Clay Insurgent to boot.
